A thrilling new horror film, titled “Dangerous Animals”, offers an incredibly enjoyable watch, blending elements reminiscent of both “Longlegs” and “Jaws”.
In our review of Dangerous Animals, we awarded it four stars. Here’s what we said: “Amidst an era saturated with oversized blockbusters bogged down by excessive exposition and large casts, Dangerous Animals stands out as a refreshing contrast; a straightforward horror thrill ride that mirrors the ruthless efficiency of its deadly creatures.
In our conversation with the film’s director, we discussed the movie’s environmental theme, the dramatic scene that left the female lead speechless, and how cricketing legend Shane Warne and wildlife icon Steve Irwin impacted the creation of the villain. Proceeding further might reveal SPOILERS about the film’s finale and sequel news…
Dangerous Animals ending explained
In this thrilling scenario, the game takes on a deadly cat-and-mouse dynamic between notorious serial killer Tucker and his evasive target, Zephyr. As Zephyr strives to secure her own survival and that of her beloved Moses, they find themselves in a perilous situation where they are hunted by the relentless sharks.
The peak action unfolds on Tucker’s vessel, commencing when Zephyr manages to break free from her restraints by biting off her own thumb. This act triggers a confrontation as she ignites a flare and aims it at Tucker. The ensuing altercation takes place in the boat’s kitchen, with Zephyr striking Tucker repeatedly over the head using a frying pan.
Subsequently, she attempts another escape by swimming towards a close-by island resort. However, Tucker manages to catch up with her in a speedboat. After a scuffle on the shoreline, he overpowers her, rendering her unconscious yet again, and seizes control of the situation once more, holding her captive.
Next, Tucker hoists Zephyr over the ocean, leaving Moses bound and watching helplessly. It appears a Great White shark is approaching Zephyr, who tries to scare it off by jabbing at it with a spear before using it to swim back towards the boat. However, Zephyr accidentally falls into the water, causing blood to leak from a wound on her hand, which attracts the sharks.
Despite remaining stationary, the sharks seem to avoid her, and Zephyr returns to the boat. She quickly retrieves a harpoon gun, utters a questionable remark, “Oobie Doobie so-and-so,” before aiming and firing at Tucker’s abdomen.
Tucker unfortunately plunges into the water, and a Great White shark snatches him high above the surface before dropping him again. Remarkably, this moment of what seemed to be his demise was captured by one of the shark’s own cameras.
After that, the shark takes off with Tucker while the harpoon line wraps itself around Zephyr’s ankle, dragging her into the sea. Despite this, Zephyr proves to be a determined fighter, managing to free herself, rise back to the surface, and return to the boat.
After igniting a flare, Zephyr moves on, which is spotted by a nearby vessel occupied by a group. Upon closer inspection, they notice Moses who appears to be deceased. This discovery saddens Zephyr, as she had earlier believed there was nothing of value for her on land, but now realizes that… he has become something of significance to her.
As I stir back to life, I can’t help but smirk, “I told you so,” and we share a victorious grin as the final curtain falls on our latest gaming adventure.
Dangerous Animals director has “other angles” for sequel
We had a conversation with Sean Byrne, the director of “Dangerous Animals,” regarding the movie’s conclusion, and he refused to comment on whether Tucker actually perished or not.
Regarding potential sequels, Byrne notes: “There are other possibilities. It’s been casually discussed. For now, I view such queries more as friendly banter than serious prospects since the movie hasn’t even been released.
Personally, I’m eagerly anticipating this unique blend of shark and serial killer films, something I haven’t encountered before. As a fan of both genres, I believe it holds great potential for an engaging cinema experience. It promises high-octane action, a heartfelt love story, and all the elements that make a night at the movies thrilling – a perfect balance, I hope, to captivate audiences.
It’s uncertain about a specific continuation, but if “Dangerous Animals” proves successful, Byrne seems to have some concepts in mind for where the story might progress.
