‘Dancing With the Stars’ Premiere: Anna Delvey Laughs About Being in Prison as Carrie Ann Inaba Asks Audience to Give Her a Chance

As a seasoned dance enthusiast with years of experience under my belt, I must say that this week’s Dancing With The Stars lineup was quite a spectacle! Each pair brought their unique flair and energy to the dance floor, making it a night to remember.

Season 33 of “Dancing With the Stars” kicked off with a bang.

Week one featured the debut of a fresh set of celebrities competing for the prestigious Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough continued their roles as hosts, while Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough served as judges.

At the start of the two-hour program, ex-Bachelor Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson were surprised to earn a 21/30, which is an exceptionally good score for the first week, following their spectacular and energetic performance of the cha-cha dance.

According to Inaba, Chandler Kinney truly raised the standard as he and partner Brandon Armstrong performed an exceptional tango that placed them at the top of the leaderboard with a score of 23 out of 30. Nevertheless, Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach delivered a strong performance that earned them the second position with a score of 22 out of 30.

During practice sessions, it seemed as though Olympic athlete Stephen Nedoroscik lacked rhythm and dancing abilities. However, when he took to the dance floor alongside his partner Rylee Arnold, they performed an energetic jive that impressed the judges enough to receive a score of 21 out of 30.

The last “star” to hit the dance floor was convicted felon Anna Delvey, who during her package, laughed while explaining that she’s wearing an ankle bracelet because she was in jail and “it was hard to leave.” She added, “I reinvented myself many times and this time I’m going to be a ballroom dancer.”

Following her usual practice, which started with a close-up of the sparkling ankle bracelet, Inaba addressed both Delvey and the spectators. “As soon as you hit the dance floor, I sensed a change in the room’s vibe,” the judge remarked. “I merely want to encourage everyone to be open to this experience, because I can envision that it might be intimidating for you.” The judge continued, “I’m not taking sides regarding what you’ve done before, but here we’re focusing on your dancing, so let’s create a welcoming atmosphere for her, if you don’t mind.
