As a lifelong dance enthusiast who has attended more ballroom competitions than I can count, it’s truly heartening to see “Dancing With the Stars” thrive once again. The ratings growth throughout Season 33 and its record-breaking finale are a testament to the enduring allure of dance and the passion it ignites in viewers.

During Season 33, “Dancing With the Stars” experienced significant growth in viewership, and this trend continued for its season finale. The combined figures from various platforms have been released for the November 26 finale. After a week of viewing on ABC, Disney+, Hulu, and other digital platforms, the final episode attracted approximately 8 million viewers and earned a rating of 1.55 among adults aged 18 to 49.

The viewer count, which stood at 7.95 million, saw a 25% increase compared to its initial live+same day total (6.36 million), and also experienced a significant jump of 36% over its average for adults aged 18-49 (1.14 million).

In other words, the highest viewership for “Dancing with the Stars” in the past three years watched as Len Goodman presented the Mirrorball trophy to Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson during the finale. The finale attracted the largest multiplatform audience for “Dancing With the Stars” in terms of total viewers and adults aged 18-49 since the Season 30 premiere in 2021.

The grand finale of “Dancing With the Stars” was the most viewed since November 25, 2019, across all platforms, and it attracted the highest number of viewers aged 18 to 49 since November 21, 2017.

In linear broadcasting, this program was the highest-rated among adults aged 18 to 49 for a primetime entertainment show on ABC since the airing of “Abbott Elementary” following the Oscars on March 10. Consequently, it became the top-rated telecast in this age group for the entire season.

Based on ABC’s report, “Dancing With the Stars” received over 32 million votes for its grand finale. For their final performances, Graziadei and Johnson danced a cha cha rhythmically set to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” and a freestyle in sync with District 78 feat.
