As a cinephile who has spent countless hours immersed in the magical world of Disney, I must say that this week’s “Dancing With the Stars” was nothing short of enchanting. The energy, passion, and sheer talent on display during Disney Night were truly captivating.
On “Dancing With the Stars,” Disney Night consistently delivers impressive performances. During the October 22nd episode, the couples aimed to secure the initial perfect scores of the season, following two pairs who tied for the top spot on the leaderboard last week with a score of 9 in each category.
During Dedication Week, I was thrilled to see that my favorites, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, as well as Danny Amendola and Witney Carson, both received scores of 27/30 with their Viennese waltz and contemporary routine respectively. For Disney week, we were determined to secure the coveted first 10 points of the season.
Regrettably, Joey and Jenna’s Samba rhythm for “Trashin’ the Camp” from “Tarzan” fell a bit short, resulting in a score of 25 out of 30. Conversely, Danny and Witney showcased a strong Jazz performance to “Bye Bye Bye” from “Deadpool & Wolverine,” however, they too could only secure three 9s.
In another instance, Chandler Kinney confessed that she found herself contemplating following Carrie Ann Inaba’s advice to “delve deeper” after her last dance. Consequently, she immersed herself in this approach for her Paso Doble performance with Brandon Armstrong, set to the song “We Own the Night” from the movie “ZOMBIES 2”. This intense performance garnered them three nines.
Here are all the scores from the individual routines:
Here are the couples and their scores, rephrased for clarity:
Following the individual performances, the performers divided into two groups: Team Roar consisted of Dwight, Daniella, Danny, Witney, Stephen, Rylee, and Phaedra with Val. Despite some misalignment in their playful performance, they earned a score of 24 out of 30 points.
As a film enthusiast, I moved forward, witnessing Ilona and Alan, Joey and Jenna, Chandler and Brandon, and Jenn and Sasha gracefully dance across the stage. Bruno Tonioli couldn’t help but express his admiration, noting that it was challenging to distinguish the professionals from the celebrities among these women. This exceptional group received a well-deserved score of 27 out of 30.
The total team scores were incorporated into each dance’s individual ranking. Therefore, Chandler and Brandon remained in first place on the leaderboard, with Ilona and Alan, as well as Joey and Jenna, closely following; they were all tied for second place. Danny and Witney, along with Jenn and Sasha, also shared the third position. Meanwhile, Dwight and Daniela, Phaedra and Val, and Stephen and Rylee found themselves in a tie at the bottom of the standings.
Afterward, scores were blended with viewer votes. Eventually, co-host Alfonso Ribeiro declared that, yet again, the viewers had shattered the record for the most individual votes cast during a single night.
But still, someone had to go. Phaedra and Val were ultimately eliminated.
