Cyberpunk „Gem” Delayed Once Again. Replaced Devs Need More Time to Meet Players' Expectations

As a seasoned gamer with decades under my belt, I’ve learned to embrace the rollercoaster of anticipation and disappointment that often comes with eagerly awaiting new releases. The announcement of yet another delay for “Replaced” is a familiar tale, one that has left me both frustrated and intrigued in equal measure.

“Replaced is a platform game set in a cyberpunk world, boasting charming character designs amidst its pixel art backdrop. It skillfully portrays the vibrant, chaotic atmosphere of a future metropolis filled with violence. However, gamers eagerly awaiting this potential hit will have to exercise patience yet again, as Sad Cat studio has announced a postponement.”

The creators haven’t specified a new launch date for the platform game “Replaced” yet, but we know it’s set to come out in 2025. This is another hurdle for this highly anticipated title – its release was initially planned for 2022, but it was postponed first due to the outbreak of war in Ukraine (many developers were located near affected regions) and later because they wanted to ensure a top-notch experience. This time, the delay is attributed to the need for more time to perfect the game.

Originally, we had an ambitious timeline for launch, but we regret any disappointment this may have caused. Creating Replaced, however, presents a rare set of difficulties, which we are honored to tackle. To uphold our own high standards and those of our enthusiastic fans, we require additional time to deliver the exceptional product we aim to create.

At this year’s gamescom, developers will provide a trial version of the game for attendees in Cologne to play between August 21st and August 25th.
