Adam Badowski, co-CEO of CD Projekt, recently mentioned in January 2024 that the company is again thinking about adding multiplayer to the Cyberpunk universe. They actually explored this possibility years ago, planning either a multiplayer addition to Cyberpunk 2077 or a separate online game. However, after the difficult launch of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020, CD Projekt Red cancelled those multiplayer plans in 2022.

Don’t expect Cyberpunk 2 anytime soon – CD Projekt Red is currently prioritizing the next Witcher game. While they’re considering online multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2, plans could change during development, just like they did with the first Cyberpunk game. It’s also important to remember that the studio hasn’t officially confirmed online multiplayer yet.
