CW Network President Dennis Miller to Exit, Brad Schwartz to Assume Top Role

As a longtime fan of the CW network and a connoisseur of strategic leadership, I must say that Dennis Miller‘s departure as the CW president leaves me both intrigued and somewhat melancholic. In just a short time, he managed to transform the network into a powerhouse of live sports programming, securing rights for LIV Golf, ACC basketball and football, NASCAR’s Xfinity Series, and “Inside the NFL.” His tenure was marked by an impressive expansion that significantly bolstered the network’s ad sales.

Dennis Miller is stepping away from his role as CW network president after , EbMaster has learned.

Since appointed by Nexstar CEO Perry Sook in fall 2022, Miller has been managing the network owned by Nexstar. This role will soon be taken over by Brad Schwartz, who is the new president of entertainment for CW, upon Miller’s departure. According to sources, this information was reported by EbMaster.

Since taking over at CW following Nexstar’s purchase of the broadcaster from Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount, Miller has successfully acquired the rights to LIV Golf in January 2023, and subsequently secured deals to air ACC basketball and football every Saturday, “Inside the NFL” on Tuesdays, and NASCAR’s Xfinity Series starting from 2025. This push into live sports has significantly boosted CW’s ad sales under Miller, attracting more than 15 new sports advertisers and partners like Verizon, Subaru, and Walmart for ACC football.

Nexstar declined EbMaster‘s request for comment.
