Culdcept Begins early purchase bonuses revealed for physical and digital releases

Clear River Games has announced that players who buy Culdcept Begins early for either Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 will receive special bonuses.

Culdcept Begins will have unique artwork and characters depending on which version and region you buy it in. It comes out on July 16th for both Nintendo Switch and a new, upgraded Switch model. A PC version will also be released on Steam later this year.

Four Luxurios “Early Purchase Bonus DLCs” for Cepters Old and New

The Culdcept series started back in 1997, and to celebrate our first new game in a decade, we’ve created four downloadable content packs. These packs include beloved characters and unique book covers from throughout the series’ history, letting players experience the full legacy of Culdcept.

Early Purchase Bonus DLC

1. “Zeneth” newly illustrated by Satoshi Matsuura

Zeneth of the Dragon Eye has been a featured character in every game of the series, and now a new illustration of him has been created by the game’s lead designer, Satoshi Matsuura. Players can battle against Zeneth as an AI opponent or even play as him within the game.

2. “Najaran” newly illustrated by Satoshi Matsuura

Najaran, a main character from the Culdcept manga, is now in Culdcept Begins. Like Zeneth, she’s been updated with new artwork by Satoshi Matsuura specifically for this version of the game. Players can battle against her as an AI opponent, or play the game as Najaran herself.

3. Book Cover: “Culdra (1st Edition)”

Culdra is the goddess credited with creating the world of Culdcept. This book cover showcases the original artwork from the very first Culdcept game, created by famous science fiction artist Naoyuki Kato. You can use this design to personalize the covers of your in-game decks.

4. Book Cover: “The Four Gods” (EU Exclusive Design) / “Iksear” (North America Exclusive Design)

The game features unique book cover designs depending on your region. European players will find a design called “The Four Gods,” using artwork called “神々の邂逅” originally created by famous Japanese sci-fi artist Naoyuki Kato for the Sega Saturn. North American players will receive a brand-new illustration of the character Iksear, the God of Water, made specifically for this game. You can use these designs to personalize your in-game decks (called Books).

Besides the regular version, a special “Deluxe Edition” will be offered in limited numbers. It includes unique extras that honor the series’ beginnings.
