As a lifelong student and admirer of Indian mythology, I am thrilled by the news of the India-U.K.-U.S. collaboration to share the captivating tale of Krishna’s love with global audiences. This venture, led by C. Sajan Raj Kurup and bestselling author Amish Tripathi, promises an exciting blend of traditional stories with contemporary sensibilities.
The movie, often referred to as a “fantastical story,” was written by authors Prakash Kapadia and Raam Mori, after they spent two years meticulously verifying facts from various scriptures and literature.
Shobha Sant, head of Creativeland Studios Entertainment, oversees the team working on our current project. We’ve brought together seasoned professionals in the field, such as Hardik Gajjar, a specialist in mythology who directed the series “Siya Ke Ram” (2015-16). He will be directing this time around. Ayananka Bose, renowned for his recent cinematography work on movies like “Satyaprem Ki Katha” (2023) and “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” (2023), will handle the camera duties.
The film’s visual effects will be a collaborative effort between studios in Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Mumbai, tasked with recreating ancient Vrindavan, Barsana and Dwarka. Pre-production and VFX asset creation are already underway, with principal photography scheduled to begin in November. The worldwide theatrical release is slated for February 2026.
The London-based affiliate of Creativeland Studios Entertainment, known as Creators Inc, plans to utilize its knowledge in content selection for global audiences in the production of “Shri Radha Ramanam.” Creators Inc has recently achieved success with the sale of their documentary “The Commandant’s Shadow” to Warner Bros. and HBO, who have also given it a broad theatrical release.
In the United States, Creativeland Studios Entertainment’s Artist International Group (AIG) will manage representation for David Unger’s project “Shri Radha Ramanam”. Negotiations are currently ongoing with prominent exhibitors, aiming for one of the broadest U.S. releases ever for an Indian film. This venture signifies a crucial move in Creativeland Studios Entertainment’s global expansion strategy, as they have recently partnered with AIG to promote Indian talent globally.
In Hindu religion, Lord Krishna, who is considered the eighth manifestation of the god Vishnu, holds a significant position. He is famed not only for his role in the ancient Indian tale called “Mahabharata” but also as the divine narrator of the “Bhagavad Gita.” Typically portrayed as a captivating and complex deity, Krishna has long been a creative catalyst for Indian art, literature, and culture. His tales, especially his love story with Radha, have served as an influential wellspring for centuries.
