‘Couples Therapy’ Season 4 Part 2 Sets Release Date, Debuts New Trailer (EXCLUSIVE)

Therapy is back in session.

The award-winning documentary series “Couples Therapy” is set to come back, launching the second part of its fourth season on May 23. It promises nine fresh episodes and four brand new couples as participants. During this submission period, it will be entered for Emmy awards in the category of exceptional structured reality series.

Both Paramount+ subscribers with Showtime and online viewers can stream all the episodes on the same day they air. On traditional TV, however, the season will kick off by broadcasting the first three episodes consecutively at 9 p.m. ET/PT on May 23rd. The subsequent episodes will then be aired in pairs every Friday at 9 p.m. ET/PT as well.

This version maintains the original meaning but uses simpler and more conversational language, making it easier for readers to understand.

In 2021, the show that received the Television Critics Association Award for exceptional reality programming showcases once more Dr. Orna Guralnik, a well-known psychologist and psychoanalyst. Renowned for her compassionate yet direct method, Guralnik facilitates therapy sessions with couples on camera, providing viewers an unusual glimpse into the complex emotional aspects of romantic partnerships.

In the second part of season four, I find myself encountering four fresh pairs navigating challenging and intricate situations. One such duo comprises a deaf man and his hearing partner, who are at odds over commitment and personal freedom in their intimate life. Another couple is young, struggling to cope with past trauma and secrets that have remained hidden for too long. A third pair has been married for a while, finding themselves trapped in recurring conflicts. Lastly, there’s a therapist-writer duo who find themselves enmeshed in an unyielding power struggle that puts even Guralnik’s methods to the test.

The documentary series, honored with the 2024 American Cinema Editors (ACE) Award for Best Edited Non-Scripted Series, has been consistently acknowledged within the industry, receiving nominations from the International Documentary Association, Cinema Eye Honors, Critics’ Choice Real TV Awards, as well as the 2023 and 2025 TCA and ACE Awards.

Under the banner of Edgeline Films, the series titled “Couples Therapy” is helmed by esteemed filmmakers Josh Kriegman, Elyse Steinberg, and Eli Despres (known for their Sundance award-winning works like “Weiner” and “Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show”), in collaboration with Vinnie Malhotra. Matt Parker, Bennett Elliott, and Carly Hugo are the producers for this particular episode, while Pax Wassermann and Elliott are the directors.
