Concord To Remain A Part Of Amazon's New Video Game TV Show Despite Shutdown

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen games rise and fall like summer storms. Some leave lasting legacies, while others are forgotten footnotes. Concord, sadly, falls into the latter category. Its brief stint was more akin to a meteorite streaking across the sky before disintegrating into oblivion.

It’s not an understatement to note that Concord, a recent entrant into the gaming world, has been one of the most notable failures. Sadly, its hero shooter mode had to close after only two weeks. Yet, there’s a glimmer of hope – it appears that the game will continue in some form through a spin-off storyline on Amazon Prime Video’s video game-centric TV series, Secret Level, premiering on December 10th.

Announced in August at Gamescom, Secret Level is a collection of animated tales set within the universes of diverse video games and gaming series, such as God of War, The Outer Worlds 2, Warhammer 40K, and Concord. It was revealed that Concord is among the fifteen franchises participating in this project, with the game continuing to be associated with Secret Level, according to a reliable source speaking to IGN.

Secret Level is set to introduce fresh tales for franchises that have been quiet for a while, like Mega Man and Unreal Tournament. A quick glimpse in the trailer hints at Keanu Reeves potentially starring in Armored Core, but this hasn’t been officially announced. Interestingly, Keanu Reeves was recently unveiled as the voice actor for Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

The fate of Concord remains uncertain, as one of its creators openly admitted, “None of us have a clue about what comes next.” Prior to its closure on September 6, rumors circulated that some players were intentionally committing in-game suicide in an attempt to achieve the platinum trophy before the game was discontinued.
