In the thrilling world of Monster Hunter Wilds, I’ve come across a variety of beasts, big and small. The diminutive Comaqchi may not seem formidable at first glance, but its armored shell proves otherwise. It’s amazing to think that this protective layer can be utilized for crafting other valuable items!
Despite not being the top predator in the Iceshard Cliffs, its advanced form provides components needed for various armors – even the legs of the armor set derived from the local leviathan.
As a gamer, I’ve found that the Comaqchi Carapace can only be obtained from the High Rank variant of a specific enemy in Monster Hunter Wilds. If you haven’t reached that level yet, just keep progressing through the game’s story. But if you’re ready for the challenge, here are some spots where I’ve successfully encountered Comaqchi:
1. The dense forests of the Elder’s Recess.
2. The swampy lands of the Coral Highlands.
3. The volcanic terrain of the Volcanodon’s Pit.
Where to find Comaqchi Carapace in Monster Hunter Wilds
A preferred spot where we often come across Comaqchi Carapaces is area eight of the Iceshard Cliffs. Specifically, two Comaqchi can be found near the Pop-Up Camp in Area 19. Additionally, this location offers three Mining Outcrops, making it an ideal place to mine Gracium as a bonus.
If you require additional resources, feel free to check out areas 15 and 18 as well. Both have three spawn points, but we suggest opting for area 18 in this case. Area 18 is relatively untouched, whereas the Comaqchi in area 15 might scatter if huge monsters are present nearby.
As a fellow enthusiast, if you’re just starting out at High Rank and seeking the Comaqchi Carapace for crafting the Nerscylla Coil, I wholeheartedly suggest scouting the area in zone eight. Having Gracium on hand can be quite beneficial, especially if you fancy experimenting with various weapons, as the Ore tree there offers a good supply at an affordable price. It’s also a great opportunity to gather a variety of minerals for your collection.
These adversaries seldom cause issues, yet they have the capability to strike with a stinger, causing you to fall asleep. However, your Palico will rouse you shortly, though it remains an inconvenience (and that’s nearly all the harm the Comaqchi can do to you).
If finding it difficult to hit smaller opponents, try adjusting the Target Filtering settings in your Camera options found on the third page. Here, you can control whether the camera should lock onto small enemies or not, potentially making it easier to hit them with weapons that have slower firing rates. Additionally, using Focus Mode can help ensure your attacks are accurate.
