In College Football 25 Road to Glory, you have the opportunity to build your own football player and experience their journey through college football. Similar to Dynasty mode, this feature was previously offered in NCAA Football 14. Although it shares some familiar elements, there are several exciting new aspects to explore.

League Setup – College Football 25 Road To Glory Guide

Similar to Dynasty style, you have the freedom to adjust conference configurations and diverse gameplay options. For novices of College Football 25, starting with Rookie level is perfectly fine. Feel free to modify the difficulty anytime during your matches to discover the ideal level of challenge for you.

What Journey Should you Choose?

In College Football 25’s “Road to Glory” mode, you get to pick a character background for your player. You can begin with a recruit rating ranging from two to five stars. Consider these as varying levels of challenge in launching your football career. There are four distinct backstory options to select from:

  • Elite (5-Star)
    • 79 OVR Rating
    • Start with two Mental Abilities
    • 5 Skill Points
  • Blue Chip (4-Star)
    • 75 OVR Rating
    • Start with two Mental Abilities
    • 4 Skill Points
  • Contributor (3-Star)
    • 67 OVR Rating
    • Start with 1 Mental Ability
    • 3 Skill Points
  • Underdog (2-Star)
    • 60 OVR Rating
    • No Mental Abilities
    • 2 Skill Points

In the realm of College Football 25, there isn’t one ideal path to follow as it depends on personal preference. Nevertheless, the route you take could influence your playing experience and the attention from prospective colleges. If your goal is to begin as a starter at esteemed institutions, consider opting for Elite or Blue Chip. Alternatively, if you enjoy competing for starting positions and eventually earning a spot, go for Contributor or even Underdog.

Keep in mind that you’ll be able to use the Transfer Portal in search of greener pastures later on.

What Positions Can you Play in College Football 25 Road to Glory? Positions & Archetypes

In the game “College Football 25: Road to Glory,” you have the ability to assume the role of various football players including Quarterback (QB), Running Back (HB), Wide Receiver (WR), Middle Linebacker (MLB), and Corner Back (CB). Each position offers a choice of three distinctive archetypes, providing unique sets of strengths and weaknesses. For instance, a Scrambling QB excels in speed and creates impressive plays on foot, but might not match the precision of a Field General QB.

Check out our full guide on all the archetypes in College Football 25 and which one’s we like best.

Interview Phase – College Football 25 Road To Glory Guide

When participating in Road To Glory, your cell phone holds significant value outside the field. Shortly after starting, you’ll be sent a text message from an interviewer querying about your preferences in choosing a school. If you’re familiar with Dynasty, you’ll recognize that each educational institution carries its distinct Team Prestige and School Grades. Here are some illustrative instances:

  • Home Proximity – Distance between home and school
  • Championship Contender – Does the school have a shot of winning a title?
  • Playing Time – Will the player get to see the field early and often?

Certain grades remain consistent throughout a person’s academic or athletic career, such as Home Proximity and Academic Prestige. On the other hand, some grades can undergo significant changes over time. For instance, SMU’s ranking in year 1 might place them 22nd, but by the junior year, they could emerge as a strong Championship contender.

In simpler terms, every school assesses students differently based on various aspects, and your performance during the interview is just one factor among many. Therefore, don’t assume that receiving calls from universities is solely determined by a high-ranking player expressing interest in you from Georgia. Ultimately, a school’s decision to admit you depends on multiple considerations.

Selecting a School – College Football 25 Road To Glory Guide

When you’ve finished creating and personalizing your player in the game, you’ll be presented with a selection of schools, each represented by an icon with a corresponding interest meter at its base. A green meter indicates that the team is keen on having you join them. However, if the meter is yellow or red, it suggests that they already have sufficient depth at your position. While this doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t recruit you, there’s a chance you may enter as a walk-on instead of securing a starting or even second-string spot.

In other words, it’s advisable to choose a school where you can begin playing right away. Additionally, consider joining the team as a backup player if the current player at your position has a comparable OVR rating. For instance, if your CB rating of 67 OVR is only slightly lower than the starting player’s, you may have ample opportunities to play during your freshman year.

The location of your interviews and the content of your answers could influence which schools express interest in you. For instance, if you expressed a preference for playing close to home, this might limit the number of schools located far away that would consider you. However, it’s essential to keep in mind that you have the opportunity to attempt signing with any school, regardless of their initial level of interest. The two primary factors that will significantly impact your chances are your performance during the interview and tryouts, as well as the specific requirements of each team.

Based on my experience as a college football coach, I strongly recommend taking advantage of the Transfer Portal if you find yourself in a situation where you’re not getting the playing time or opportunities you were hoping for at your current school. However, if you’ve decided to recruit a three-star or two-star player, it would be wise to begin their college career at a lower-rated institution. This strategy allows them to develop and improve their skills before attracting attention from higher-ranked schools. By the end of the season, they can assess their progress and see if there is interest in their talents within the Transfer Portal. My personal experience has taught me that this approach can lead to a more successful and fulfilling college football journey.

How To Increase your Attributes in College Football 25 Road To Glory

In College Football 25 Road To Glory, you can enhance your attributes by gaining experience (XP) and advancing to higher levels, which will give you Skill Points. Subsequently, you’re free to utilize these Skill Points to amplify any of your fundamental ratings. Boosting a rating results in an improvement of several related attributes.

For example, if you increase a QB’s Elusiveness rating, you increase their:

  • Agility
  • Break Sack
  • Change of Direction
  • Juke Move
  • Break Tackle
  • Spin Move

For every player, there are six fundamental ratings they possess. Some of these ratings come with restrictions based on your specific Archetype. For instance, a Scrambler Quarterback is limited to a maximum rating of 9 for their accuracy attribute because of their Archetype’s constraints.

How To Increase Coach Trust in College Football 25 Road to Glory

An essential additional metric is your Coach Confidence Rating. You can boost your Coach Confidence both on and off the pitch in Road To Glory through various methods, such as:

  • Spending Energy Points on Leadership
  • Giving credit to your Coach during interviews (random activities)
  • Spending Energy Points or time with teammates (random activities)
  • Playing well during games (First Downs, Touchdowns, Big gains, etc.)
  • Performing well during Practice

The significance of Coach Trust lies in its role as the determining factor in securing or retaining a starting position. For instance, suppose you’re a backup quarterback for Sam Houston. If your Overall Rating (OVR) and Coach Trust are comparably high, you’ll be given an opportunity to compete for the starting spot through a Position Battle.

In simpler terms, a Position Battle is a contest involving you and another teammate for the same spot on the roster. You both participate in three smaller matches, two of which must be won to secure or claim that position. If you fail to win, you’ll have to bide your time before attempting another battle. Don’t forget to save your progress each week to safeguard your place.

Based on my own experiences and observations, I believe that nurturing a strong relationship with your coach is crucial for success on a sports team. It’s not just about playing well during games; building trust and rapport with your coach can make all the difference in your overall experience and growth as a player.

An essential aspect of Coach Trust is that it grows as your trustworthiness increases. The greater the trust you build, the more substantial the rewards you receive. Particularly noteworthy are these benefits during Game Days, a topic we’ll delve into soon.

What To Do During The Weekly Agenda in College Football 25 Road To Glory

From this point on, we move into your weekly schedule with the RTG Agenda, which holds significant importance for your experience. Each week, you’re allocated a certain number of Energy Points that can be used on various activities. These activities encompass:

  • Academics – Increases GPA and unlocks:
    • A GPA below 2.0 means you will not be able to play.
    • A basic preparation earn you +5 Coach Trust every week
    • Prepared earns you the Fan Favorite Ability
  • Leadership – Spend time with the team:
    • Low – Passive Coach Trust Bonus (+10 weekly)
    • Medium – 1.15 Team XP Multiplier
    • High – +25 Composure
    • Excellent – Fan Favorite Mental Ability
  • Health – Indicates level of Wear & Tear

Additionally, you have the option to utilize Energy Points to enhance specific features of your character through Training or Brands. Keep in mind that Training comes with a cost to your health, so make sure to set aside some extra Energy Points for recovery.

Instead of focusing on building a brand early on, it’s often better to invest your energy into improving your academic skills first. A strong performance in this area will naturally attract followers and potential opportunities for endorsements and deals. These prospects will become more abundant as you continue to excel, which we’ll discuss further later.

In summary, invest most of your Energy Points in academic pursuits and leadership roles at the outset. The extra Coach Trust Bonus and Mental Abilities you’ll gain earlier on will be beneficial for maintaining your initial standing.

Practice – College Football 25 Road To Glory Guide

In the game “Road to Glory,” engaging in the designated activities, often referred to as mini-games, significantly boosts your Coach Trust. Each role comes with distinct mini-games tailored to that position. To maximize growth, it’s advised to partake in these activities every week.

After finishing a Practice session, you’ll be given a corresponding rank: Bronze, Silver, or Gold. Keep in mind that performing poorly may result in no reward at all. Aiming for a Gold Rank is the ultimate goal as it grants more Coach Trust. The greater your Coach Trust, the stronger your position in potential competitions against other players.

If you dislike the practice sessions, an alternative is to simply simulate your best performance instead. This way, you only need to achieve a Gold Rank once, then you can replicate that success through simulation in subsequent attempts. Nevertheless, I would still suggest practicing as it enriches the Racing Games experience beyond just spending energy points and playing.

NIL Deals & Random Activities – College Football 25 Road To Glory Guide

During your professional journey, you may receive text messages from various individuals proposing different activities. These could range from studying with a teammate to signing endorsement deals that might drain your energy. At times, your coaches might request your participation in additional training sessions, which would require energy expenditure but offer temporary attribute boosts.

Based on my own experiences and observations, I strongly believe that increasing one’s influence is a valuable goal for personal growth and success. However, blindly jumping into random brand partnerships and exposure deals without careful consideration can be counterproductive.

In summary, it’s great to make use of these benefits, but be aware that they may involve some risks. For instance, should you choose to socialize extensively and boost your brand recognition at the expense of your academic performance? Remember to weigh the pros and cons carefully before reaching a decision and save wisely!

Gameday – College Football 25 Road To Glory Guide

We finally arrive to Gameday. Right away, you’ll notice one major thing: The play-calling.

In “Road to Glory,” the coaching team is in charge of choosing the plays for you. But based on your relationship with your coach, you have the option to ask for additional play-call suggestions.

As a gamer, I started off making occasional requests for more play-call variations during games, but the more effort I put into understanding the game and my team’s strengths, the more control I had over our offense. However, not every play-call would bring new opportunities to the table. For instance, if I wanted to throw the ball but we were winning by a large margin with very little time left on the clock, the coaches would only call running plays.

As a gamer, I’ve discovered an alternative solution. By employing a fast-paced offense, I can call an audible and choose among various plays on the fly. Remember though, using this tactic too frequently could lead to increased risk of injury for my players. With College Football 25’s Wear & Tear System in play, it’s essential to monitor the health of my team closely throughout the season.

As a college football enthusiast, I’m here to walk you through our comprehensive guide, the College Football 25 Road To Glory for newbies. This guide should help clarify how the RTG (Rise To Glory) feature operates. Wishing you all the best as you aim to bring honor to your college and eventually make it to the NFL. A fun fact: once you’ve concluded your career, you’ll have the opportunity to import your player into Madden NFL 25!
