College Football 25 Hits 2 Million Players Before Official Launch

As a long-time sports gaming enthusiast and college football fanatic, I can hardly contain my excitement as EA finally brings back College Football 25 after a decade-long hiatus. The anticipation leading up to this moment has been palpable, with millions of unique players, including myself, eagerly participating in the early access period.

Today marks a significant return in the realm of sports video games as Electronic Arts (EA) releases their long-anticipated College Football 25 game to the public. This franchise has been absent for a decade, and the enthusiasm from fans was palpable during its absence. EA revealed that over 2.2 million unique players engaged with the game during its trial period, and an additional 600,000 individuals tested it using the EA Play subscription.

Starting July 15, those who purchased the deluxe edition for $100 or used the 10-hour EA Play trial had early access to the game. As of today, July 19, the standard edition with a price tag of $70 is available for sale.

As a gamer, I can tell you that before this year’s College Football 25 from Electronic Arts (EA), the last installment featuring NCAA schools was NCAA Football 14 in 2013. Due to some complex issues like legal disputes and lawsuits, EA and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) parted ways. In place of the NCAA partnership, EA secured individual licensing agreements with all 134 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) universities for this game. And here’s a significant shift – EA is now compensating athletes by signing them to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals.

College Football 25 can be accessed on the newer consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, it’s not compatible with last-generation consoles, personal computers, or Nintendo Switch.
