College Football 25 Hit 5 Million Players In Its First Week

As a die-hard sports enthusiast and a nostalgic college football fanatic, I can confidently say that EA Sports College Football 25 has surpassed all my expectations! With over 5 million unique players in its first week, it’s clear that this game has struck a chord with fans like me who have been waiting for a new installment in the series.

At its debut, EA Sports College Football 25, the franchise’s release after more than a decade, has garnered widespread popularity. However, recent data from EA’s quarterly financial report unveils the extent of its success: over 5 million distinct players engaged with CFB 25 during its first week.

EA’s first-quarter report for the year 2025, concluding on June 30th, highlights a remarkable debut, as per EA, termed as the “historically successful launch” of EA Sports College Football 25.

Before the official launch of CFB 25, a significant number of players were already engaged, reaching 2.2 million unique users during its four-day early access phase. This number nearly doubled within the first week following the game’s release on July 19, with a total of 5 million unique players giving it a try. It’s important to note that this figure doesn’t account for an additional 500,000 users who tested the game through the EA Play trial.

The launch of CFB 25 occurs towards the close of a financially robust quarter, as reported by EA. While many of its numbers have decreased compared to the same time last year, EA acknowledges that certain key indicators surpassed their own projections for the said quarter.

Despite a few initial technical hiccups and some minor inaccuracies in player and team representations, EA Sports College Football 25 has been lauded by critics. The TopMob’s College Football 25 review commented that it delivers more than just nostalgia with its exceptional production values and gameplay, awarding the football simulation a score of 8/10.
