College Football 25 Doesn't Have NCAA, Does Have NASA

As a hardcore gamer and avid fan of sports simulations, I can’t help but be impressed by the level of detail and realism that EA Sports has brought to College Football 25 with their integration of Cape Canaveral into UCF Stadium. This isn’t just a game; it’s an immersive experience that draws you in with its authenticity.

As an avid fan, I’m always excited to discover new things about my favorite games, like EA Sports College Football 25. And it looks like there are some unexpected elements both on and off the field! Recently, UCF Football’s Twitter/X account shared a clip where something truly remarkable caught the commentator’s attention – a rocket launch right smack in the middle of the game! Can you imagine the shock and awe on the players’ faces? What an incredible experience for all involved!

The commentator pauses the action in the game and points up at the sky, remarking, “Take a moment to look up there. Isn’t it breathtaking?” As “Sandstorm” by Darude fills the background. Few people are aware that the 50-yard line at UCF Stadium aligns with Cape Canaveral’s launch pad, approximately 50 miles distant.

At the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, there is meticulous depiction of details in the game. Although it’s improbable for in-game explosions to mirror real-life rocket incidents, the resemblance adds authenticity and charm.

Recently, Cape Canaveral has been in the limelight due to Boeing’s historic first astronaut mission for NASA, named Starliner. The journey commenced on June 6 and was initially planned to last for 10 days. However, unexpected helium leaks and thruster problems have caused the mission to extend indefinitely, with the crew having spent over a month in orbit as of July 10. During a press conference held on that date, NASA’s Commercial Crew Program manager Steve Stich disclosed these issues, stating that engineers are still working diligently to identify the root cause and grant clearance for Starliner’s departure.

As a long-time fan of college football games, I’m both excited and a little disappointed with the latest offering, College Football 25. While I appreciate that EA Sports has included NASA in the game instead of the NCAA, it just doesn’t quite hit the mark for me. You see, as someone who grew up watching my alma mater dominate the field every season, the absence of the Team Builder feature is a significant letdown.
