‘Cold Wallet’ Lands North American Distribution From Well Go USA (EXCLUSIVE)

As a tech-savvy individual who has dabbled in the cryptocurrency market and lost my fair share to scams, this film seems like a chilling reflection of my own experiences. The thriller “Cold Wallet” promises to deliver a gripping tale that resonates with the fear and frustration many of us have felt when our hard-earned money disappears into thin air due to unscrupulous activities in the digital world.

Independent movie company, Well Go USA Entertainment, has obtained the distribution rights for the thriller “Cold Wallet” across North America, from Blue Finch Films.

The movie, helmed by director Cutter Hodierne (“Fishing Without Nets”) and produced by Steven Soderbergh, features the acting talents of Raúl Castillo (“Cassandro”), Melonie Diaz (“The First Purge”), Tony Cavalero (“The Righteous Gemstones”), Josh Brener (“Silicon Valley”), and Zoe Winters (“Succession”).

The movie chronicles an unconventional group of Reddit vigilantes who, after being swindled in a cryptocurrency con, embark on a mission to capture the shadowy mastermind behind their unexpected financial collapse. However, when a break-in goes awry, they find themselves unwittingly caught up in a psychological chess game that challenges their devotion and mental stability.

I’m excited to share that, following its initial debut at SXSW 2024, the movie I’m involved with has been scheduled for a theatrical release early in 2025. It’s an honor to announce that we will be premiering this horror flick on the west coast at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in L.A., mark your calendars for October 10th!

Brennan Lane, director of acquisitions and production at Well Go USA, pointed out that ‘Cold Wallet’ injects an exciting new angle into the heist genre by vividly depicting the ultimate nightmare for anyone dabbling in the volatile, potentially lucrative realm of cryptocurrency, dreaming of striking it rich,” he said.

The screenplay was written by John Hibey (of “Fishing Without Nets” fame), who, together with Benjamin Wiessner (“Werewolves Within”), co-produced the project under Vanishing Angle, along with Hodierne. This film is inspired by an initial concept for a teenage cryptocurrency heist movie created by Justin Staple, and was developed into a narrative by Hibey and Hodierne.

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that this remarkable film was orchestrated by an exceptional team of executive producers – Derek McMurtry, Justin Staple, Raul Castillo, Melonie Diaz, Tony Cavalero, Josh Brener, Leo Matchett, Michael Musante, and Matt Miller. This cinematic gem also had the honor of receiving the Decentralized Pictures Award and Soderbergh’s Andrews/Bernard Award, making it a must-watch for film connoisseurs like myself.

Hodierne expressed his appreciation and enthusiasm for collaborating with Well Go to launch ‘Cold Wallet.’ Their knowledge within the genre film sector instills faith that our movie is in capable hands, and the crew appears motivated and professional,” said Hodierne.

This movie wouldn’t have been possible without the tremendous backing of our production partners – Test Pilot, Vanishing Angle, and Decentralized Pictures. The fact that Steven Soderbergh, one of my idols, supported us is priceless. In the heist genre, there’s no better endorsement than that. Our film, ‘Cold Wallet’, offers a fun, exhilarating ride through the world of web3 culture, and its release couldn’t be more timely. A big shout-out goes to Justin Staple for the initial concept of a crypto heist thriller, and John Hibey for crafting such an excellent script. I can hardly contain my excitement as we prepare to unveil the exceptional talent of our cast: Raul, Tony, Melonie, and Josh.

The deal was brokered by Brennan Lane from Well Go USA and Mike Chapman representing Blue Finch Films, acting on behalf of the film creators.
