In simpler terms, the Real-Time Strategy game, Company of Heroes 3, developed by Relic Entertainment, has just gotten a fresh update labeled as version 2.0.5. This update includes several long-awaited adjustments.
- Many of them bring wanted fixes to the gameplay. For example, the construction time of field fortifications has been reduced, landmines now deal 50% less damage if detected, and the rate of fire of artillery units has been increased. It’s now also easier to use craters as cover in multiplayer mode, as their depth has been standardized.
- The creators improved a series of maps in the game. These are mostly small changes aimed at improving the balance of gameplay. The Mignano Summit is the exception here. It has been completely revamped – instead of a lush battlefield, it now looks like a war-torn location with many barriers and buildings removed.
- The balance of the multiplayer mode has been improved, mainly in terms of combat groups (patch 2.0.5 improves seventeen of them)
- There were also plenty of technical bug fixes and interface improvements.

However, recent updates have boosted the game’s standing, as shown by the fact that 64% of the latest reviews on Steam are positive, considering only reviews from the past month.
As a result of the unsuccessful launch of the game, Sega Company and Relic Studio parted ways, much like a marriage ending in divorce. With the aid of an investor, the developers managed to purchase their freedom from Sega, thereby restoring their studio’s independence.
