Bandai Namco released a new trailer today giving an overview of Code Vein II, including details on its weapons and combat system.
The new, almost 9-minute trailer offers a detailed look at how Code Vein II will play before its release this month. It covers everything from combat and weapons to the Partner system, character builds, game mechanics, and collectible artifacts. If you’re new to the game, this trailer follows previous reveals of gameplay, characters like Lyle McLeish and Holly Asturias, and more. You can also find James’ preview with his first impressions. Plus, a demo for the Character Creator is coming later this month.
Code Vein II is set to release on January 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).

Okay, so Bandai Namco just dropped a new trailer for Code Vein II and it looks awesome! It really shows off how much you can customize your character, the combat system (which seems really cool), and the different areas you’ll be exploring. Basically, you’re thrown into this epic story where you can control time – pretty wild, right? You’ll be traveling between the past and present in a world that’s falling apart, and you can team up with companions using a new Partner System. The game comes out on January 30, 2026, and you can pre-order it now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Steam. Even better, they’re releasing a free Character Creator demo on January 23rd! You can build your perfect Revenant in the demo and then carry them over to the full game when you buy it. I’m already hyped!
The new trailer for Code Vein II showcases how players will survive in its post-apocalyptic world. The game’s combat system is more complex now, with deeper strategy thanks to improved Drain Attacks, Formae, and a Partner System. Drain Attacks let you collect Ichor, a vital resource for powering your strongest moves. You use Ichor to activate Formae – special abilities that include transforming your weapons, summoning powerful strikes, and executing defensive maneuvers like blocks and counters. Jails, which are worn on your back, add even more customization by changing your stats, enhancing Drain Attacks, and giving you tactical advantages in battle.
The trailer showcases the Restorative Offering, a feature where players can revive a fallen Revenant Hunter by sharing health. However, using this ability has a cooldown, briefly leaving the reviving player vulnerable. The game introduces new weapons – Twin Blades and Rune Blades – alongside returning options like the Bayonet, Halberd, Hammer, and Greatsword. Players can customize their combat style using the expanded Blood Code system, which lets them unlock and switch between different Revenant power sets. Boosters further enhance customization by allowing players to unlock key attributes and activate special traits linked to Blood Codes and equipment, creating unique playstyles.
Starting January 23, 2026, players will get a chance to create their characters in the CODE VEIN II Character Creator Demo before the game officially launches. This demo lets you fully customize your Revenant Hunter with tons of options for appearance – everything from body type and hairstyle to facial expressions, accessories, and makeup. You’ll have 64 save slots to store your creations, and these characters will carry over to the final game! You can also check out your character in the MagMell Institute’s hot spring with different lighting, and use Photo Mode to save your favorite looks.
Code Vein II tells a compelling story about the bonds between people and the forces of fate, all set in a dying world. Players will explore a haunting, post-apocalyptic future where the last of humanity and the Revenants fight for survival. Their journey takes them through striking locations like the flooded Sunken City, the eerie Undead Forest, and the remote MagMell Island. Along the way, they’ll meet unforgettable heroes whose fates are tied to the world’s salvation. The game offers a unique action RPG experience: players gain power by absorbing enemy blood, customize their combat style with Blood Codes, and use special weapons and equipment called Jails to defeat powerful enemies and bosses.
