As a seasoned Call of Duty player with over a decade under my belt, I must say these updates are quite intriguing! The adjustments to the weapons seem well thought out, especially the boost in damage for the Basilisk and the X13 Auto. It’s always exciting to see a weapon becoming more lethal, just like how some of us wish real-life guns could be!
A small update has arrived to both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. The patch notes reveal buffs for several Modern Warfare 2 weapons. Other small changes include spawn adjustments for Shipment map variants in multiplayer and improvements for challenges in Warzone.
In the multiplayer for Modern Warfare 3, the update has been made to harmonize the starting points (spawns) for the Shipment maps, ensuring consistency across all versions. This alteration was inspired by player feedback and data analysis, which indicated that spawn quality was superior on the Shipmas version of the map. Consequently, all Shipment maps will now have spawn points more akin to those seen in the Christmas variant.
In Modern Warfare 2, the crossbow underwent a substantial upgrade to enhance its usability. This enhancement includes a 81% boost in bolt speed, a 70% reduction in bolt-gravity impact, and a slight amplification of the neck-damage multiplier. The update also eliminates the aim-down-sight spread for the Brightblaze, Blastcap, and Caustic 20″ bolt types without the scope.
As a fanatic about Modern Warfare 2, I’m thrilled to share that some of my favorite shotguns are getting an upgrade! The KV Broadside, Lockwood 300, Expedite 12, Bryson 800, and the Bryson 890 will now have enhanced damage-range capabilities. Additionally, they’ve decided to buff the handguns as well, aiming to boost both the damage and damage range of some of my go-to pistols like the P890, .50 GS, X12, and Basilisk!
In contrast to advancements being made on last year’s firearms, the DTIR 30-06 battle rifle from Season 6 has been adjusted for multiplayer to perform less effectively. Specifically, there was a minor reduction in the damage multiplier for hits on the lower torso, going down from 1.3 times to equal damage (1.0x).
On the Warzone front, updates are minimal, primarily focusing on weapon balancing, specifically the crossbow. In Multiplayer mode for Modern Warfare II, the crossbow is receiving a similar enhancement as detailed earlier. Notably, there’s no adjustment to the neck-damage multiplier, but it does see an 81% boost in bolt velocity and a 70% reduction in bolt-gravity influence. Additionally, it eliminates the aim-down-sight spread for the Brightblaze, Blastcap, and Caustic 20″ bolt types.
The changes detailed in the update involve modifying the Terriball challenge within the Purgatory Limited Time Mode (LTM) in Warzone. Now, eliminating opponents using Terriballs contributes to meeting the kill targets set for particular events on Purgatory Island.
The full patch notes for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone can be seen below, as shared by Activision.
Here’s another way of saying it: It’s been announced that some favorite gameplay options have been taken out from Resurgence and traditional Battle Royale modes in Warzone. This seems to be a temporary adjustment as they prepare for Warzone to connect with Black Ops Cold War later on this year.
On October 25th, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 becomes available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and personal computers. Don’t forget to explore all the major updates regarding Black Ops 6 right here!
