As a long-time Call of Duty fanatic with years of gaming under my belt, I must say that the Season 1 update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone has left me feeling somewhat conflicted. On one hand, the simplified page layout is a welcome change, and the new content is certainly intriguing. However, on the other hand, the downgrade in the battle pass is a bit of a letdown.

Yesterday saw the launch of the Season 1 update for both Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, introducing a wealth of fresh content and a battle pass brimming with cosmetic skins. Upon initial observation, the most striking modification appears to be the streamlined design of the pages. However, it’s important to note that this season’s battle pass includes one significant reduction compared to previous years.

In Call of Duty, the Battle Pass offers weapons that are part of downloadable content in the free tiers for each pass. If you want additional cosmetics, you can opt for a standard battle pass at 1,100 CoD Points ($10), or spend $30 on the premium BlackCell bundle. The Battle Pass tiers in Call of Duty come loaded with lots of cool cosmetic items, XP tokens, and CoD Points that can be earned back.

Historically, the standard pass has seemed like a worthwhile investment, as it costs 1,100 CoD Points and, if you manage to complete all the levels, you’ll earn a grand total of 1,400 CoD Points through the rewards across all tiers. This additional 300 CoD Points (approximately $2 in value) can be saved or used towards a shop bundle.

Black Ops 6’s battle pass now awards only 1,100 Call of Duty Points, meaning you can regain what you spent initially, but it’s disappointing that the rewards are reduced. Some players might find this reduction in incentives to purchase the battle pass less appealing.

Here’s where you’ll discover all the thrilling highlights from Season 1’s Battle Pass! This battle-ready pass features Sevati “Sev” Dumas, a character I can’t wait to play as an operator, along with a variety of weapon blueprints and some tantalizing Gobblegums for Zombies.

Good news! Any leftover Double XP tokens from Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone last year have been rolled over to Black Ops 6. This means that earning prestige and leveling up your new weapons will be a lot quicker.
