As a seasoned Call of Duty veteran with over a decade of gaming under my belt, I must say, Activision has really stepped up their game with the new battle pass design for Black Ops 6! The return to a more simplified and linear layout harks back to the good old days, reminiscent of my first encounter with Modern Warfare.
In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, Season 1 debuts on November 14th. Alongside fresh maps and game modes, this season introduces an updated battle pass brimming with cosmetic items. The design of the battle pass in Call of Duty has been significantly revamped for Black Ops 6, and Activision has shared a new trailer to display the innovative battle pass layout.
In contrast to the combat map-style battle passes debuted in Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops 6 adopts a more straightforward and sequential design for its battle pass. The Season 1 pass offers approximately 100 items to be unlocked, spread across 14 distinct categories or pages.
The trailer showcases designs reminiscent of Fortnite’s Battle Pass style. Each page offers multiple unlockable items, allowing players to make their own choices and enjoy greater flexibility. Once all items on a page are unlocked, a premium reward, known as the HVT, is earned.
Similar to past seasons, players continue to have the option to let their Battle Pass tokens unlock rewards in a predetermined sequence automatically, or they can disable this feature and manually decide the order in which they’d like to unlock the rewards.
In Season 1, you’ll receive the latest Krig C assault rifle and Saug submachine gun for free in the basic and advanced tiers of the pass. If you opt for the premium version, you’ll get a variety of top-tier operator outfits and weapon designs. Furthermore, the BlackCell pass, offering even more content and skipping battle pass tiers, is back for those willing to upgrade.
