As a seasoned CoD player with over two decades of gaming under my belt, this latest update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone feels like a breath of fresh air! The return of the legacy XP tokens from Modern Warfare 3 is a welcome addition that takes me back to the good old days. I remember grinding those tokens for hours to level up in MW3, so it’s great to see them come back.
An update, fairly sized, has been rolled out for both Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Here’s what the November 19th patch entails: Legacy XP tokens make their comeback in Black Ops 6, while overpowered shotguns in Warzone receive a much-needed fix.
Among the key features of the recent update is the reintroduction of the legacy XP tokens, which were previously earned by players in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone before the launch of Black Op 6. These XP tokens were initially introduced with the Season 1 update, but they were subsequently removed due to a UI bug that could potentially impact game stability, as claimed by the developer. Now, players have the opportunity to use these old MW3 tokens again to progress more quickly in Black Ops 6.

In the latest update, they’ve fixed an oversight where camouflages from Modern Warfare 2 and 3 were incorrectly applied to weapons in Black Ops 6. The developers clarify that this was an unintended mistake because these camos weren’t meant for Black Ops 6 weapons and are visually inconsistent, hence not supported. This adjustment affects weapon customization in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
In simpler terms, the update details hint at multiple enhancements for stability being incorporated, applicable to both multiplayer sessions and Zombies modes.
Regarding the Warzone updates, they rectified a problem where shotguns dealt more damage at extended ranges than planned, making them too powerful. However, this update also addressed a glitch allowing players to gain more Experience Points (XP) in battle royale than was intended.
The full patch notes for Black Ops 6 and Warzone can be found below, as shared by Activision.
The first season of Call of Duty remains to enrich the game by introducing fresh content, with the Ranked Play mode making its debut in multiplayer on November 21st. In an exciting development, Call of Duty has surpassed its popularity on Xbox for the first time in over a decade.

- Fixed an unintentional bug where MWII and MWIII camos could be applied to Black Ops 6 weapons.
In the role of an avid gamer, I’ve noticed that the camos from past Black Oops games don’t quite jive with the weaponry and accessories in Black Ops 6. This is because they were designed for different game environments, leading to a visual dissonance that prevents their integration into this title.
