Universal has announced the release date for CoComelon: The Movie, bringing the popular children’s show to the big screen. CoComelon first started as a YouTube channel called “checkgate” in September 2006, and has since become a global favorite among young children.
A movie adaptation of the popular children’s series CoComelon, titled CoComelon: The Movie, is scheduled to come out on February 26, 2027, according to Deadline. The movie will be produced by Moonbug Entertainment, which also makes the TV show, with additional production support from Flywheel Media. Currently, it’s the only film planned for release on that date.
As of today, only three other films are scheduled for release in the US in February 2027. These include Ice Age: Boiling Point, the sixth installment in the Ice Age series, which comes out on February 5th. On February 12th, audiences can expect an untitled K-Pop movie directed by Benson Lee, as well as the film adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s novel, The Nightingale.
Given the incredible success of the show over the past 19 years, it’s no surprise that a CoComelon animated movie is in the works. Originally launched years ago and relaunched as CoComelon in 2018, the series is now available in many languages and has expanded into a wide range of products, including a Netflix series and lots of merchandise – all demonstrating its popularity around the world.
