As a seasoned gamer with years of sailing through virtual realms under my belt, I must admit, I was eagerly awaiting the Early Access release of Aloft this Fall. However, after reading the latest update from Astrolabe Interactive, it seems we’ll have to wait just a tad longer for our Sky Sailor adventure. While I understand that game development is an intricate dance between creativity and technicality, I can’t help but think of the old pirate adage: “Patience, me hearties, is the key to finding buried treasure.
Hey fellow Sky Sailors! As one of us who roams the Sky Islands, I’m here to share some exciting news straight from Astrolabe Interactive about our favorite co-op sandbox survival game, Aloft! Remember when we all eagerly waited for its demo back in June 2024? Well, that momentous release also brought forth the multiplayer mode we’ve been talking about nonstop. Guess what? The multiplayer was such a hit during Steam Next Fest that it’s being extended even longer! So let’s hoist the sails high and keep an eye out for more updates from our beloved developers!
Originally, the developers intended to launch the Early Access version of the game this Fall. However, it seems they require additional time to combat the corrupted Sky Islands. They’ve decided to delay the release, but rest assured, Sky Sailors, there will be upcoming updates and announcements as they work diligently on perfecting the game.
Hello, Space Explorers! A few months back, we shared that Aloft would start Early Access in Fall 2024. After careful deliberation and discussions, we have decided to shift the game’s Early Access launch to January 2025. Kindly check out our detailed update on Steam for more information.

The creator explained on the Steam News page that they’re delaying Aloft’s Early Access launch from its original plan, stating this decision was reached after careful discussions and thought. Some players may find this news “upsetting” given their positive experiences with the game demo, but there’s good news too: The game will now be released in January 2025, ensuring it will be at its finest quality.
Astrolabe Interactive expresses their satisfaction with the game’s current development but emphasizes that it needs further refinement for a more polished, detailed, and finely-tuned finish before it can be fully launched. Despite releasing in Early Access, the team is dedicated to providing a quality update that surpasses all previous ones, as stated in their announcement.
“Your initial flight in Aloft should be truly remarkable, so the extra time we’re giving you now will significantly enhance the game for both its development and your overall gaming experience. We value the feedback you’ve shared after the demo launch, and we want to express our sincere appreciation for your patience and ongoing support as we work towards the Steam Early Access release of Aloft.
