‘Clash of Clans’ Animated Series Ordered at Netflix

A “Clash of Clans” animated series has been greenlit at Netflix, EbMaster has learned.

Entitled “Clash,” the upcoming series reportedly focuses on a headstrong, yet out of his depth, Barbarian who needs to unite a motley crew to safeguard their settlement while dealing with the comically preposterous intricacies of warfare. This production is said to take place within the universe of Supercell’s “Clash of Clans” and “Clash Royale,” and preparations are currently in progress.

Fletcher Moules takes on the role of showrunner, while Ron Weiner, known for his work on “Arrested Development” and “Futurama,” steps up as chief writer. Previously, Moules collaborated with Supercell on animated videos for “Clash of Clans” on YouTube, which garnered hundreds of millions of views. ICON Creative Studio will handle the animation for the upcoming Netflix series.

The mobile strategy games “Clash of Clans” and “Clash Royale” were first released in the years 2012 and 2016 respectively. Since their debut, both games have continued to captivate players worldwide. To date, they’ve been downloaded more than four billion times and accumulated an astounding 180 billion hours of gameplay.

Over the past couple of weeks, this new animated series order is what Netflix has recently secured. Earlier, they made a declaration about the adult-themed comedy animation titled “Mating Season.” This show shares its roots with the team behind “Big Mouth,” which is currently gearing up for its eighth and final season.

Additional animated series coming to Netflix, such as “Long Story Short,” are being developed by the creative mind behind “BoJack Horseman,” Raphael Bob-Waksberg, along with other team members from the same production. The principal cast for “Long Story Short” has been finalized, featuring Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, and Nicole Byer. This new series is set to premiere on Netflix on August 22nd.
