Civilization 7 Is Set to Be „Revolutionary New Chapter in the Franchise.” Over 20 Minutes of Presentation Await Us

As a seasoned Civilization player since the early days of Civilization II, the announcement of Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 has me more excited than ever! I remember staying up late into the night strategizing and plotting my path to global domination on those pixelated maps. The thought of experiencing that thrill again, with even more refined gameplay and features, is simply exhilarating.

At gamescom 2024, a sneak peek of Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 is set to be unveiled, offering fans the initial gameplay glimpses and a detailed conversation with the creators, lasting approximately 20 minutes. Firaxis Games has announced that this event will transpire on August 20 at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time, streaming live on their Twitch channel.

In simple terms, some details revealed on the official series website (and Steam) about the upcoming Civilization game might not come as a shock to fans, as they have an idea of what’s coming next. Additionally, it was announced that we would get a longer preview of the game this summer, and in late July, the developer confirmed the date and location for the demonstration.

Despite the confirmation that we’ll get more than just a gameplay trailer, the developer emphasized that this “revolutionary new chapter in the franchise” will also feature details about its innovations. In essence, they are working on substantial changes from the previous sixth part and plan to share and explain many of these alterations for approximately 20 minutes or more.

At the upcoming events like PAX West 2024 on August 31, developers are expected to participate too. They will use these occasions not only to showcase new features but also share behind-the-scenes stories from the development of the seventh iteration of Civilization.

In 2025, Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
