As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that the latest reveals for Civilization 7 have me buzzing with anticipation. The First Look video featuring Augustus and his abilities has certainly piqued my interest, especially given my penchant for cultural expansionism in strategy games.
As an ardent fan, I eagerly anticipate a consistent stream of reveals for Civilization 7 leading up to its launch, with exciting new details unveiled weekly. The latest unveiling is the second First Look video, focusing on Augustus and several of his unique leader abilities. What’s more, they’ve stealthily disclosed another civilization that will be playable in Civilization 7.
Civ 7 First Look at Augustus Reveals Exploration Age Civ
For quite a while, we’ve anticipated Augustus would be part of the Civilization 7 leader lineup. Now, a video revealing several of his unique traits has been unveiled. Originally, Hatshepsut was highlighted, but it’s now Augustus, the historical Roman Emperor, who takes center stage.
As a gaming enthusiast, I find myself drawn to Augustus, a Cultural Expansionist leader who thrives in styles of play that focus on cultural expansion and interaction. This unique blend makes for an intriguing match with Rome, a Cultural Militaristic civilization. On the other hand, players can opt for Greece in the Antiquity Age, transforming into a Cultural Diplomatic civ. With this choice, you’ll be more focused on cultivating influence to effectively negotiate and communicate with other leaders.
As each new era dawns, change is inevitable, and I’m thrilled about the subtle hint dropped by Firaxis Games that “in the Exploration Age, Spain could be your ticket to expand your empire across uncharted waters.” We’re still in the dark about which other leaders may forge alliances with Spain or its unique attributes and abilities in Civilization 7, but the anticipation grows as we eagerly wait for more details to surface.
Augustus’ special Imperium Maius skill enhances production in the main city for every settlement, boosts gold for constructing buildings in towns, and enables the purchase of cultural buildings in towns. Moreover, his strategic goal, Restitutor Orbis, will moderately diminish relationships with leaders for each town in other empires, while it will also moderately increase relationships with leaders for every city (except the capital) in other empires.
For Civilization 7 enthusiasts, there’s an exciting anticipation building as we’re yet to learn the focus of the next reveal. However, a series of First Look videos featuring familiar leaders such as Amina, Ashoka, Benjamin Franklin, Confucius, Himiko, Napoleon Bonaparte (in both Revolutionary and Emperor personas), and Tecumseh are on the horizon. Keep an eye out for these in-depth previews within the coming weeks and months. For comprehensive updates on what we already know about these leaders, you can find all the details in our continuously updated list of confirmed civilizations and leaders for Civilization 7.
