‘Citadel’ Spinoffs ‘Honey Bunny’ and ‘Diana’ Canceled at Prime Video, Will Be Woven Into Season 2 of Mothership Series

It appears that the standalone series for “Honey Bunny” and “Diana,” which are offshoots of the “Citadel” franchise, will not proceed on Amazon’s Prime Video platform.

Instead, the storylines will be integrated into the second season of the “Citadel” parent series, scheduled to debut next year. The spin-offs “Honey Bunny,” set in India, and “Diana,” from Italy, each helmed by the Russo Brothers, focus on distinct factions within the Citadel intelligence agency, which gives the show its name.

As a devoted cinephile, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about the upcoming season of ‘Citadel’. While each of its international chapters may have concluded their individual journeys, the second season will undoubtedly surpass all expectations. In a statement, Amazon MGM Studios head of television, Vernon Sanders, promised high-stakes narratives, an expanded cast of exceptional talents, and cinematic audacity that will further immerse us in the emotional rollercoaster of characters like Nadia, Mason, and Orlick. Brace yourselves as we delve deeper into their stories, battling against the formidable enemy known as Manticore when ‘Citadel’ Season 2 premieres worldwide in Q2 of 2026.

One month following the events of Season 1, our Citadel operatives are hidden underground and on the run from Manticore agents globally. However, they’re forced to emerge from their secret locations to team up with an unusual group of spies when Paulo Braga, a wealthy Brazilian businessman linked to Manticore, threatens global destruction by releasing a devastating technology created by Citadel’s Bernard Orlick.

The series “Citadel” features Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Stanley Tucci, and Lesley Manville as its principal actors.

Despite the reported success of both “Honey Bunny” and “Diana,” which include “Honey Bunny” being Prime Video’s most-watched series worldwide during its initial release in November, and “Diana” debuting as the platform’s top Italian original in October, cancellations are still happening. This decision may be linked to the recent departure of Jennifer Salke, who oversaw the concept for these series and their global expansion. According to EbMaster’s report, the failure of “Citadel” to become the cultural phenomenon that Amazon anticipated might have played a role in her leaving.
