Christopher McQuarrie Says the Plot of ‘Top Gun 3’ Is ‘Already In the Bag’: ‘It Wasn’t Hard’

“Top Gun 3” may be closer to release than you think.

During a chat on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast hosted by Josh Horowitz, director and co-writer of “Top Gun: Maverick,” Christopher McQuarrie, revealed that he’s got the plot ready for “Top Gun 3.

Speaking as a devoted fan, when I inquired about the challenge of creating “Top Gun 3,” director McQuarrie reassured me by saying, “Actually, it’s all set and ready to go.

McQuarrie stated that it wasn’t challenging as he had initially expected. Instead, it’s all about the emotion.

On more than one occasion, hints about the third installment of “Top Gun” have been dropped by those involved in the franchise. Just last month, Tom Cruise himself confirmed that he is currently working not only on “Top Gun 3”, but also a follow-up to his 1990 racing movie, “Days of Thunder”.
