Chris Pratt Says ‘Hug Your Loved Ones’ After Fatal Shooting of ‘Parks and Recreation’ Co-Star Jonathan Joss

Chris Pratt expressed heartfelt condolences for the loss of his “Parks and Recreation” colleague, Jonathan Joss, who sadly passed away due to a shooting incident. He kindly urged everyone on social media to cherish their dear ones by giving them a warm embrace.

I, a movie enthusiast, am deeply saddened to share the news that Joss, famed for his roles as Chief Ken Hotate on “Parks and Rec” and John Redcorn in “King of the Hill,” tragically lost his life due to gunshots in San Antonio, Texas this past Sunday. EMS pronounced him deceased at the scene. He was just 59 years old.

Oh, what sad news. Rest In Peace, Jonathan. Such a considerate individual he was. He portrayed Ken Hotate in Parks and appeared in Mag 7 too. It’s hard to accept this. Sending my thoughts and prayers. Give your dear ones a warm embrace.

Joss appeared in five episodes of “Parks and Recreation” from 2011 to 2015, featuring in seasons three, five, and seven. Chris Pratt made a significant impact on the show as Andy Dwyer, a humorous and endearing character who had a romantic relationship with April Ludgate, played by Aubrey Plaza.

On Monday, Nick Offerman, known for his role as Ron Swanson in “Parks and Recreation,” shared with People that the show’s cast had been regularly texting one another throughout the day, offering mutual support as they collectively grapple with the sadness brought about by the passing of their colleague, Joss.

As a film enthusiast, I’ve been left utterly shattered today. The news of the loss of our beloved actor, Jonathan, who graced our screens as Chief Ken Hotate, has struck us all deeply. He was an incredibly kind soul and it was always a pleasure working with him. This is truly a devastating turn of events.

The inquiry concerning Joss’s passing is yet to be completed, however, the suspect was apprehended right at the scene and charged with murder. On Joss’ Facebook account, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, his spouse, asserted that they had been subjected to homophobic intimidation and that their house had been destroyed by fire “following over two years of threats from neighbors in the area who repeatedly warned us they would torch it.

According to the San Antonio Police Department’s statement, there’s no indication at this time that Mr. Joss’ murder has any connection with his sexual orientation.
