Chloë Sevigny Pitched Luca Guadagnino to ‘Play Jean Again’ in ‘American Psycho’ Remake: ‘Do That Reverse Aging on Me’

One of the original cast members from “American Psycho”, Chloë Sevigny, has expressed interest in joining the upcoming remake directed by Luca Guadagnino. In an interview with IndieWire, she shared that she proposed the idea of reprising her role in the “American Psycho” universe for the director’s new take on the story.

Upon learning that Luca Guadagnino might be involved, I’m not certain if it’s definite. Initially, I believed he was working on a World War II film. I proposed the idea to him of reprising my role as Jean and using age-reversal effects for the character. I thought this could be an interesting concept, given that the same actress plays the same part twice. However, I’m unsure if it’s something he’ll pursue. He mentioned he was considering other ideas for me instead.

Previously, Sevigny worked with Guadagnino on the upcoming thriller “After The Hunt,” which features Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield, and Michael Stuhlbarg. Based on a summary, the movie centers around a college professor who faces a dilemma when one of her students accuses one of her colleagues, potentially revealing a secret from her own past that could cast a shadow over both her personal and professional life.

Filming for the movie “After the Hunt” started in London back in July 2024 and ended in August. The film will have a limited release in October. As for Guadagnino’s remake of “American Psycho,” it hasn’t begun shooting yet, but Austin Butler has been chosen to play the role of serial killer Patrick Bateman. Guadagnino himself mentioned that the script is shaping up quite well during his recent talk at CinemaCon.
