China unveils robot toilet that drives to your bed and cleans itself when you’re done

China has introduced a self-driving toilet that comes to you, takes care of business, and then automatically cleans itself before returning to its charging station.

A Chinese company named Yueban unveiled a new device called Xiaoban at the 2026 Shanghai International Elderly Care Expo. It soon became popular online due to its unusual appearance.

Xiaoban isn’t like typical smart toilets – it can actually travel around your house by itself! You can call it to you using a remote control or just your voice, and it will automatically come to where you are, like next to your bed.

I saw this new device and it’s really cool – it’s designed to help older people and those with limited mobility have more independence when they need to use the bathroom. Basically, it means they won’t have to struggle to get to a toilet or depend so much on others for help. But honestly? The internet is already going wild saying hardcore gamers are going to love this thing! Everyone’s bringing up that South Park episode with Cartman and his gaming marathon – apparently, it solves that problem perfectly!

Mobile robot toilet cleans itself after use

After you’re done, Xiaoban can wash you with warm water and then dry you with warm air. It also eliminates odors and automatically connects to your home’s plumbing when not in use.

After completing its tasks, the robot empties its waste, cleans and disinfects itself, replenishes its water, and recharges its battery, getting ready for its next use.

Xiaoban uses sensors like LiDAR and lasers to get around, much like how robot vacuums work. This allows it to steer clear of things like furniture and doorways as it moves through a space.

The robot also has armrests and a backrest to help users stay stable while using it.

There’s been some online confusion about the robot’s price. While some sources said it costs around $13,000, many others report a price of 28,999 yuan in China, which is about $4,000 USD.

We don’t know yet if Xiaoban will be available outside of China, as international prices and launch dates haven’t been revealed.

This isn’t the first robot from China to become popular online. Earlier this year, a company called DroidUp built a remarkably lifelike robot, designed to be a companion, that uses full biometric data.
