Chile’s Rizoma and Atlanta-Based Condeco Launch Rizco Content Sales (EXCLUSIVE)

As a seasoned movie reviewer with a penchant for international cinema, I find myself thoroughly intrigued by the new venture of Rizco Content Sales, a joint effort between Chile’s Rizoma and Atlanta-based Condeco. Having traversed the global film landscape for years, I can attest that this partnership is a testament to the growing interest in content from Latin America and Spain.

To capitalize on the growing worldwide demand for content originating from Latin America and Spain, Chile’s Rizoma led by Sebastian Freund, and Ángel Zambrano’s Condeco based in Atlanta, have jointly established an international sales company named Rizco Content Sales.

The recently established sales agency is carrying forward their prosperous collaborative effort from the international distribution of the miniseries “Cecilia Incomparable,” a Chilean production inspired by the life of renowned Chilean singer Cecilia, and the Argentine-Chilean film “Salvajes,” both of which have been licensed to Amazon Prime Video.

The event was showcased at the 4th Iberseries & Platino Industria held in Madrid from October 1st to 4th. It is planned to take place in both Santiago and Atlanta.

Utilizing their extensive industry knowledge and relationships, Freund and Zambrano aim to collaborate on the pre-production phases of various film and TV series projects.

Sebastián and I have a common love for crafting tales that strike a chord with global viewers. Content originating from Latin America and Spain is receiving more and more international acclaim. This collaboration will not only broaden our scope but also share unique, impactful stories with a worldwide audience,” said Zambrano, a Venezuelan ex-Turner executive, expressing this sentiment.

As streaming services have grown and more people are requesting Spanish-speaking content, we’ve seen a surge in production not just in Spain but also throughout Latin America,” Zambrano explained to EbMaster.

Friend stated: “This collaboration, particularly emphasizing international sales, presents unlimited opportunities for local productions within the audiovisual industry—be it movies, series, external ventures, or joint productions. In today’s marketplace, having a sales division is essential for the financial sustainability of these projects.

Rizco has recently taken on the role of representing several upcoming projects:

Condeco is responsible for the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series titled “‘Vencer o Morir’” (2024) and the film “‘La Casaca Bendita’” (2025), which is currently being prepared by Frontera Films.

Rizoma created “Papá al Rescate” (2023), which was licensed to Netflix and became one of the top global films in non-English languages. Now, they are working on a remake for Mexican and U.S. Hispanic audiences together with Animal/Federation. The movie attracted over 300,000 cinema goers, leading to increased visibility. When it premiered on Netflix, the platform reported that more than 1.5 million individual users watched it within the first month, according to Freund.

Beyond this, Rizoma is renowned for creating the highest-grossing Chilean film ever, “Stefan vs Kramer,” which garnered more than two million ticket sales in local cinemas and was acquired by Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Moreover, Rizoma has collaborated on several notable productions, such as “Salvajes” (2024), “La Misma Sangre” (2019), “El Hilo Rojo” (2016), and the controversial priest scandal drama “El Bosque de Karadima.
