Chick-fil-A, the popular fast-food restaurant, plans to debut a streaming service. Known for its family-oriented values, Chick-fil-A has collaborated with various Hollywood production companies and studios to create primarily unscripted, original shows suitable for all ages. Additionally, they are reportedly in discussions to secure existing content through licensing and acquisition deals.
One example of such shows is a program produced by Glassman Media, known for NBC’s “The Wall,” and Sugar23, famous for Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why.” This particular show has received a commission for ten episodes.
Unscripted productions typically cost approximately $400,000 for every half-hour segment, according to reliable sources. Besides unscripted content, Chick-Fil-A might also explore scripted projects and animation. Former “Top Gear” and “The X Factor” producer Brian Gibson is spearheading the development of programming in this venture.
Although Chick-fil-A is famed for its delicious fried chicken sandwiches and crispy waffle fries, the company is venturing into a new territory – reality TV production. This field has seen a decline in recent times. Previously, they’ve created a series of short animated videos titled “Stories of Evergreen Hills” for their website, and introduced Pennycake, their own line of children’s games and puzzles.
Other companies outside the entertainment industry haven’t shied away from participating in the streaming wars either. For instance, Lyft and Airbnb have previously made their mark in this area. Bob the Drag Queen hosted a game show for Lyft called “Lucky Lyft”, while MTV broadcasted an Airbnb-produced series titled “Gay Chorus Deep South”.
Based on data from QSR, it’s worth noting that Chick-fil-A’s over 3,000 restaurants have the highest individual sales of any fast-food chain in the United States.
