‘Chicago Med,’ ‘Chicago Fire,’ ‘Chicago PD’ Renewed at NBC

NBC has renewed “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Chicago PD” for new seasons.

In Season 11, “Med” is introduced, while “Fire” debuts in Season 13, and “PD” joins the lineup in Season 15. At present, these three shows are consecutively aired on Wednesday nights on NBC, continuing to draw large audiences despite being well into their respective runs. According to NBC, the combined viewership for all three shows this season has reached approximately 46 million viewers across NBC and Peacock.

The three shows – “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Chicago P.D.” – are all created by Universal Television in collaboration with Wolf Entertainment. Dick Wolf and Peter Jankowski act as executive producers for all the series. Allen MacDonald and Stephen Hootstein hold this position specifically on “Chicago Med,” while Andrea Newman, Reza Tabrizi, and Matt Whitney do so on “Chicago Fire.” Lastly, Gwen Sigan, Chad Saxton, Gavin Harris, and Jason Beghe are the executive producers for “Chicago P.D.”

“Universal Television and Wolf Entertainment team up to produce ‘Chicago Med,’ ‘Chicago Fire,’ and ‘Chicago P.D.’ The executive producers across all shows include Dick Wolf and Peter Jankowski. Allen MacDonald and Stephen Hootstein are in this role for ‘Chicago Med,’ while Andrea Newman, Reza Tabrizi, and Matt Whitney hold it for ‘Chicago Fire.’ Lastly, Gwen Sigan, Chad Saxton, Gavin Harris, and Jason Beghe serve as executive producers on ‘Chicago P.D.’

The renewal of all three shows – “Law & Order”, “Law & Order: SVU”, and “Law & Order: Organized Crime” – was expected to be a given during the NBCUniversal presentation in New York City on May 12, subject to standard budget negotiations and adjustments. The bond between Wolf Entertainment and NBC is robust, thanks to their extensive partnership under Universal Television’s umbrella deal. At present, the renewals for “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: SVU” are yet to be confirmed. Notably, “Law & Order: Organized Crime”, starring Christopher Meloni, recently commenced its fifth season on Peacock.

As a movie aficionado, I’m thrilled to share that Wolf Entertainment, my dear partner in cinematic joy, holds the “FBI” franchise on CBS. This exciting collaboration between UTV and CBS Studios has seen its ups and downs, with two shows from the series being called off their duty. However, the latest news has us jumping for joy! CBS has given the green light to a fresh installment of our beloved “FBI” series, this time featuring the talented Tom Ellis in the lead role.

NBC has several important decisions left to make regarding renewals or cancellations. Besides the two “Law & Order” series, announcements are yet to be made for shows such as “Suits LA,” “Brilliant Minds,” “Grosse Pointe Garden Society,” and “The Hunting Party,” which are all freshman dramas. Additionally, decisions are pending for sophomore shows like “The Irrational” and “Found.” Lastly, the fate of comedies “Lopez vs. Lopez” and “Night Court” remains undecided as well.
