I’ve got some unfortunate news: There won’t be a fresh episode of Chicago Fire Season 13 airing tonight. Unfortunately, I can’t provide a clear reason why.
On Wednesdays, NBC features a comprehensive lineup with shows like Chicago Med, Chicago PD, and Chicago Fire, collectively known as the “One Chicago Trilogy.” Occasionally, these series may even intertwine their stories.
Similar to the eighth season of “9-1-1”, the drama series “Chicago Fire” centers around Firehouse 51’s team members who grapple with challenges both in their private lives and at work. Yet, when critical situations occur, they swiftly set aside their personal matters to focus on the task at hand.
Unfortunately, there won’t be a fresh episode of Chicago Fire this week due to an unfortunate delay in the airing of Season 13 Episode 20.
Why is Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 20 delayed?
Due to an unexplained reason, all episodes of Chicago Med, PD, and Fire have been temporarily postponed for a week. As a result, the 20th episode of Season 13, titled ‘Cut Me Open,’ will not air until May 7, 2025, at 9/8c on NBC.
Over the past few weeks, various broadcasters have taken a break in their weekly schedule, ranging from Beyond the Gates on CBS to 9-1-1 Season 8 on ABC. Sometimes, the reasons for this pause are clearly stated – The Rookie Season 7 was postponed last week due to a new interview with President Donald Trump – but other times, no explanation is given.
Fortunately, this is one of those rare instances where the “temporary break” spans just a week, ensuring we’ll resume soon. We’ve only got two episodes remaining from Season 13 following Episode 20’s broadcast, so there’s still lots more to watch in succession.
What will happen in Season 13 Episode 20?
According to the episode summary, “The firehouse team is under scrutiny as a professional assesses their operational efficiency; meanwhile, Kidd and Severide develop a connection with the potential baby’s mother they are hoping to adopt.
From the trailer displayed, it’s evident that a woman is about to give birth urgently, requiring an emergency C-section from a medical team who appear somewhat overwhelmed by the situation.
Following the latest installment, Novak has been seeking a new roommate. Meanwhile, Violet is busy trying to uncover the identity of the enigmatic medic who’s been attending to patients. It seems unlikely that this medical mystery will carry over into next week’s episode, but it’s clear that Novak’s personal life still holds some surprises in store.
