Charli XCX Joins Benito Skinner’s Amazon Comedy Series ‘Overcompensating’ as Guest Star

As a seasoned film enthusiast who’s seen my fair share of college-set comedies, I can’t help but feel a wave of excitement at the prospect of Charli XCX joining the cast of “Overcompensating.” Having grown up on campus myself (though my overcompensation was more about excessive coffee consumption and all-nighters), I appreciate the raw, relatable humor that this show promises.

Charli XCX is adding yet another acting credit to her resume.

The artist, experiencing a peak in her career following the June launch of her album “Brat,” is set to make a guest appearance in Benito Skinner’s upcoming humorous series titled “Overcompensating.” Apart from Skinner, the main cast members are Wally Baram, Mary Beth Barone, Adam DiMarco, and Rish Shah. Additionally, Connie Britton, Kyle MacLachlan, Kaia Gerber, Julia Shiplett, Tommy Do, Alexandra Beaton, Claire Qute, Elias Azimi, and Maddie Phillips will appear in recurring roles for this series.

Following the official summary, the series is a comedy set in college that follows Benny (Skinner), a former football player and homecoming king hiding his true self, as he forms a close bond with Carmen (Baram), a high school misfit determined to fit in. Assisted by Benny’s older sister (Barone) and her famous boyfriend (DiMarco) on campus, Benny and Carmen navigate disastrous dating experiences, flavored vodka, and forged ID cards. The show is both humorous and intimate, delving into the measures we take to discover our true identities.
