Charli XCX Cast in Erotic Thriller ‘I Want Your Sex,’ With Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman

As a long-time follower of Charli XCX’s music and her unapologetic, vibrant spirit, I am thrilled to see her stepping into the world of acting again! Her role in “I Want Your Sex” seems like a perfect fit for her rebellious persona. Having grown up watching her evolve from a young pop sensation to an iconoclastic artist, it’s fascinating to witness how she continues to challenge herself and push boundaries in various creative ventures.

Charli XCX has secured a second significant film role. She will portray the character of the mother in “I Want Your Sex,” directed by Gregg Araki.

The character is introduced as immersing oneself in a realm of “sex, fixation, authority, deception, and homicide,” albeit with a humorous undertone. This singer has now been added to the already announced cast members Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman, who gained recognition through their work in “Licorice Pizza.”

Information regarding Charli’s position in the project is being kept confidential. The script for this production has been written by Director Araki, in collaboration with Karley Sciortino, and filming is scheduled for October in Los Angeles under Black Bear. It was announced earlier this year that Charli (whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison) had also been cast for Daniel Goldhaber’s upcoming reboot of the cult classic “Faces of Death,” produced by Legendary Entertainment.

Title Summary: “I Want Your Sex”: This story explores the boundaries between desire and danger as naive Elliot (Hoffman) steps into the world of renowned artist, Erika Tracy (Wilde). As she makes him her sexual muse, he experiences a whirlwind of sex, obsession, power, betrayal, and even murder. With its bold characters and witty humor, this film promises to twist expectations in a way that will leave you surprised, startled, and entertained!

Seth Caplan, winner of Film Independent’s John Cassavetes award, is teaming up with Araki, Sciortino, and Teddy Schwarzman from Black Bear Productions for a new project. Michael Heimler, John Friedberg, Joanne Roberts Wiles, and Courtney L. Cunniff will serve as executive producers for Black Bear. The independent studio will fully finance the movie and handle international distribution rights. Domestic rights will be sold by CAA Media Finance. Arlie Day and Mike Page are assisting with production and casting for the film.
