Channing Tatum Rejoices Over Gambit Debut in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: Ryan Reynolds ‘Fought for Me’ After I Thought I Lost the Character Forever

10 years ago, I sat in the audience at Comic-Con, witnessing Ryan Reynolds’ groundbreaking debut of Deadpool. Little did I know that this moment would change my life forever. Fast forward to today, and I find myself expressing my deepest gratitude to Ryan for making my dream come true – bringing Gambit to life in Deadpool & Wolverine.

⚠️ Attention, here comes a hint about the current movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” that’s showing in cinemas right now. This story might unveil some plot twists if you haven’t seen it yet!

On Monday evening, Channing Tatum expressed gratitude towards Ryan Reynolds on social media for helping him secure a cameo in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” He acknowledged that he would be indebted to Reynolds “likely for life.”

In the comic book collaboration “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Channing Tatum made his long-awaited appearance as the “X-Men” mutant, Gambit. Working alongside producing partner Reid Carolin, they had dedicated four years to creating a solo movie based on the character for 20th Century Fox. However, their plans came to a halt when Disney and Fox combined in 2019. Now, after the merger, Gambit has finally graced the big screen.

In his recent post, Tatum compared two images of himself with Reynolds at Comic-Con: one taken around ten years ago, showcasing Reynolds’ initial unveiling of “Deadpool,” and another from last weekend, where the “Deadpool & Wolverine” team surprised fans by joining several cameo stars on stage.

“The difference between these photos is nearly a decade. I was part of the crowd when Ryan Reynolds unveiled Deadpool 1 for the first time, and I believe I rushed backstage immediately afterwards to congratulate him. I remember hugging him and exclaiming something like ‘Wow, you pulled it off, man. It’s brilliant!’ At that time, we weren’t close friends. But since then, there aren’t many people in this industry who have supported me more than @VancityReynolds.”

I’ve had the privilege of witnessing history in the making twice over the past decade. The first time was when Ryan Reynolds unveiled the first sneak peek of Deadpool to the world. I can still remember the electric energy in the room, the anticipation and excitement hanging heavy in the air. I was seated in the audience, my heart pounding with a mix of nerves and awe as I watched Reynolds bring the iconic character to life before our very eyes.
