As a die-hard fan of Doug ‘Censor’ Martin, I can’t help but feel a rollercoaster of emotions reading about his Guinness World Record saga. The initial denial after breaking the world record for most pull-ups was heartbreaking, but true resilience is shown when one bounces back from adversity. And boy, did Censor bounce back!
After an initial rejection, Doug ‘Censor’ Martin has now been recognized as a Guinness World Records holder following his successful achievement of performing more pull-ups than the existing world record within a span of 24 hours.
Streamer and professional Call of Duty player, Doug ‘Censor’ Martin, has officially earned a Guinness World Record title. He successfully completed an incredible 9,250 pull-ups within a 24-hour timeframe, surpassing the previous record by more than 300 repetitions.
On September 8, 2024, his successful endeavor occurred; however, a month afterward, he learned that the Guinness World Records had declined it.
According to the international organization overseeing world records, his actions weren’t solely self-motivated for personal accolades. Instead, during his live stream of the attempt, other brands and companies were involved, including Project Purple, a charitable organization dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer.

In the course of his live broadcast, he additionally promoted One More Rep Athletics & Fitness, an American-based fitness business.

GWR was not present at Censor’s pull-ups livestream. We are proud to still offer a free application service for individuals looking to break a record for their own personal achievement, and the process can be made faster via our priority service. But where businesses and brands…

Fortunately, the discussions eventually came to an end, as Censor gleefully displayed a snapshot of an email from Guinness World Records, carrying positive updates.
“Exciting news! Your application for the most pull-ups in a 24-hour period (for males) has been accepted, making you an official record holder with Guinness World Records!
In a straightforward manner, he titled the post “wow,” and it appears that his followers and peers share his enthusiasm, judging by their comments.

“Congrats brother, well deserved. Knew you’d get it!” retired CoD pro Parasite wrote.
“F*ck yeah man, congratulations,” esports commentator Miles Ross chimed in.
“About damn time, congrats bro, well deserved,” a fan said.
The censor has become another content producer who set a new world record, surpassing streamer Norme’s previous record of staying awake for an astounding 264 hours and 24 minutes. Remarkably, this achievement was made even more noteworthy due to the fact that the challenge was considered risky, leading to bans on almost every platform.
