Celebs Unite! You Won't Believe Who Showed Up!

Every year, Family Equality hosts Night at the Pier, an event that unites LGBTQ+ families, supporters, and activists. This gathering celebrates pioneers who have fought tirelessly for equality and built a more accepting society. Last Thursday, this glamorous gala took place at New York City’s Chelsea Piers, generating $1.5 million to fund Family Equality’s mission of achieving legal and everyday equality for LGBTQ+ families across the United States.

Jason Weinberg, a co-founder of Untitled Entertainment, along with his partner and screenwriter, Merritt Johnson, were honored with the Luigi Caiola Luminary Award. As Johnson expressed, “We are deeply passionate about Family Equality and the incredible work they carry out.

“In these challenging times, we believe it’s crucial that we express our opinions openly.”

Weinberg further emphasized, “We aim to keep our family united. Therefore, we must voice our thoughts instead of remaining silent.

Moore said, “Family comes in many different forms and at the root of that, it is based in love.”

The occasion additionally honored a ten-year milestone of marriage equality by featuring Jim Obergefell, the primary plaintiff in the groundbreaking 2015 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that established the freedom to wed for countless citizens.
