The CBS comedy series DMV is finishing up its first season, but unfortunately, it won’t be back for a second. News of the cancellation came before the season finale airs.
CBS has canceled both DMV and Watson. DMV will conclude after just one season, while Watson ends after two. The last episode of Watson will air on May 3rd, followed by the DMV finale on May 11th. CBS will announce its complete 2026-27 television lineup on April 15th.
The future of the DMV television network largely depends on whether two comedy pilots are picked up as full series. This is especially important since their long-running comedy, The Neighborhood, will conclude after its current season. One pilot, Eternally Yours, is a vampire comedy created by the team behind Ghosts. The other, Tillbrooks, is a more traditional family sitcom with a historical twist.
Now that CBS has canceled DMV, the pilots for Eternally Yours and Tillbrooks seem more likely to be picked up as full series. Eternally Yours received a very positive initial reaction, suggesting it’s almost certain to move forward. The pilot for Tillbrooks was also well-received during taping and delivered to the studio this weekend. While the cancellation of DMV doesn’t guarantee both shows will be ordered to series, it significantly increases their chances.
