There’s Never Been a Better Time to Love Billy Joel

The renewed enthusiasm for Joel might stem from his recent health issues. Diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus, a condition that accumulates fluid in the brain, he has had to cancel several upcoming performances. This condition, being a disorder of the brain, can be quite frightening, but Joel has reassured Howard Stern that he is “not dying.” In his words, “getting old isn’t great, but it’s better than being cremated.” It’s comforting to know that despite his health struggles, his wit and humor remain as sharp as ever. Throughout the documentary, Joel is often seen seated behind a piano or nearby with a vape in hand.

The Doctor Who Drama Is Bigger on the Inside

Following the defeat of the main antagonist, the Doctor managed to extract Belinda and their miraculously created child, Poppy, from the mysterious Zero Room. However, the act of saving the day led to the unintended consequence of erasing Poppy from existence due to her being a wish-child. In a selfless move (perhaps heroic), the Doctor decided to relinquish his Fifteenth incarnation to restore Poppy back to life, leaving Belinda to raise her on her own. The Doctor then retreated to the TARDIS for regeneration. Suddenly, everyone’s beloved scallywag, Rose Tyler, appeared in his place with a cheerful greeting, “Oh, hello!” before the screen went black.

Nathan Fielder Slams the House Committee on Transportation

In the latest season’s fifth episode, Representative Steve Cohen, who serves on the aviation subcommittee where Fielder previously raised an issue, addressed Fielder’s concerns with Captain Jody Reven, head of Southwest Airlines Pilots Association. Reven dismissed Fielder’s worries, stating that pilots receive extensive training and regularly discuss this topic. Essentially, he suggested the matter was resolved by saying, “We’re well-trained, we have yearly discussions about it.” The House Committee’s official account on X platform shared the conversation with the caption, “Nathan Fielder’s question has been addressed!

Paige DeSorbo Is Moving Out of Summer House

In 2020, DeSorbo and Berner began co-hosting the “Giggly Squad” podcast. DeSorbo’s rising career eventually led to a breakup with her boyfriend from “Southern Charm”, Craig Conover, who was not happy about her embarking on a 60-city podcast tour in fall 2024. As DeSorbo explained during season nine, if a man of his age stated he wanted to focus on his career for a few more years, it would be viewed as wise and strategic. However, when a woman does the same thing, people react with fear. Since then, DeSorbo has published a book with Berner and launched her own loungewear line called Daphne, named after her cat. True to form, DeSorbo used her departure announcement as an opportunity to subtly promote her future projects, saying “You haven’t seen the last of me, I promise. There’s so much more we have planned, but for now, you can always find me and Daphne in my bed.

Where Does Tom Cruise Go From Here?

In the late 2000s, the Mission: Impossible series played a significant role in keeping Tom Cruise’s career afloat as numerous scandals tarnished his public image and caused him to lose a substantial portion of his fanbase. As the movie industry was shifting towards a model focused on franchises, this singular film series became Cruise’s lifeline. Poor performances from films like Knight and Day, Valkyrie, and so on didn’t faze him because he always had another installment of Mission: Impossible in the pipeline, such as Ghost Protocol, Rogue Nation, and more recently, Fallout. Essentially, Cruise was following the typical strategy of stars by balancing riskier projects with proven successes. However, given his status as Tom Cruise, these endeavors carried a higher level of anticipation and importance.

Poker Face Recap: Feel the Heat

This week’s scene unfolds in an unconventional location for both a heist or romance narrative: the fictitious retail store SuperSave. Kendall (Sam Richardson), who spends his days attempting to persuade indifferent customers of the merits of physical media while displaying crime films he cherishes on 4K TVs, is the protagonist. Although he adores writing screenplays, his true passion, his job and friendship with Bill (Corey Hawkins) have been his primary focus. Bill appreciates Kendall’s latest script, “One Last Job,” which bears resemblances to “Heat,” “Inside Job,” and “Ocean’s 11.” Despite the exceptional screenplays that Kendall produces, he remains reluctant to leave for Hollywood to pursue his dreams. Even though breaking into the entertainment industry is challenging, Bill understands that Kendall cannot succeed without a push. Since cuts were needed in any case, Bill dismisses Kendall, a news he does not accept lightly. At least, he avoids working on Black Friday, a small comfort considering its chaos.

Secret Billionaires. Age-Gap Marriages. Plenty of Revenge.

The acting and dialogue of “Money, Guns, and Merry Christmas” stood out to me more than its plot or mobile-optimized filming style. This was a unique kind of badness that reminded me of an amateur community theater production of a video game cut scene. Despite my initial hesitation after seeing the first post, I ended up watching every subsequent installment in succession.

The Wicked: For Good Trailer Is Here and We Couldn’t Be Happier

However, in this updated version, there are some fresh elements to note. Glinda is now seen wearing a wedding gown, although she and Fiyero were only engaged in the original musical without an official wedding. Director Jon M. Chu has the challenge of surpassing the captivating wedding scene from Crazy Rich Asians. Erivo performs a new tune that seems to be Elphaba’s original song, and Glinda will sing another new song. Dorothy, who remains in silhouette on stage, is now fully visible in this adaptation, walking down a certain road and receiving instructions for the Wicked Witch’s broom – though her face isn’t shown yet. Catch a glimpse of Dorothy when Wicked: For Good premieres on November 21.

Mikey Madison, You Will Be Poe-pular

One of Madison’s first projects announced after her Oscars win is “Reptilia,” a film she signed on for last month, co-starring Kirsten Dunst. Before that, she was considering a role as a villain in Star Wars, but it appears negotiations about pay fell through. Sydney Sweeney had initially been linked to “Masque,” but the production of Euphoria’s third season seems to have caused a conflict.

Adults Needs More Room to Grow

Similar to shows like “New Girl” or “Friends” before it, “Adults” falls under the category of laid-back hangout sitcoms where characters are unusually entangled in each other’s lives. When they strike the right chord, these series become beloved reruns that are cherished by generations who watch them casually during meals and quote them in dating profiles. “Adults”, created by ex-“Tonight Show” writers Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, has several strengths in this area. It features memorable performances from actors such as Malik Elassal (Samir) and Amita Rao (Issa), has a witty and offbeat humor that often hits the mark, and introduces quirky concepts like “house rules” that seem destined to be adopted by real-life housemates. However, unlike its genre predecessors that had the advantage of 20 or more episodes in their first season to refine their characters’ idiosyncrasies, establish a consistent comedic style, and engage viewers with the storyline, “Adults” doesn’t have this luxury. Shows like “New Girl”, which might serve as “Adults'” closest comparison, took nearly an entire network season to soften Jess’s youthful charm and two seasons to develop Winston into a beloved oddball character. Yet, “Adults” must try to achieve this right from the start.
