At Tokyo Game Show 2025, Capcom revealed exciting news for Monster Hunter Stories fans: both Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin are coming to Xbox for the first time! Players will be able to enjoy these games on both Xbox One and the newer Xbox Series X|S consoles.
The powerful mechanical boss Omega Planetes from Final Fantasy XIV is coming to Monster Hunter, and players will need to work together to defeat it. To help with this challenge, two new job classes inspired by FF14 are being added in the Wilds update: Dark Knight and Pictomancer. Dark Knights can equip special armor to protect themselves and withstand strong attacks, while Pictomancers use illusions to cast powerful spells on their foes.

I recently spoke with Nick Giacomini, the new game director for The Elder Scrolls Online, and Rich Lambert, who is now studio director, to talk about the game’s history, current state, and what’s coming next.
