Hillman isn’t just welcoming new actors; some of the original creative team are returning as well. Debbie Allen, who directed a large portion of the original series, will direct the first three episodes of the Netflix reboot and also serve as an executive producer. Writers Reggie and Gina Prince-Bythewood, who met on the original show, are joining as executive producers alongside Mandy Summers and Tom Werner. While it’s unclear if any of the original cast members will appear, fans are hoping for some enjoyable, throwback cameos, as is typical with reboots.

Like the series Castle Rock from 2018, It: Welcome to Derry offers a unique way to adapt Stephen King’s stories for television. Although it’s a prequel to the two It films, it doesn’t limit itself to that one story, instead borrowing characters and ideas from various other Stephen King books. A clear example of this is the inclusion of Dick Hallorann, a significant character from The Shining, as a central figure in the series.

The latest season of South Park is proving popular, with the premiere drawing over 6 million viewers – the highest number in a quarter-century. This success means creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone will continue to satirize the current administration, particularly as politics increasingly intersects with entertainment. As Parker explained, political influence is everywhere, not just from the government itself, but also through platforms like podcasts, TikTok, and YouTube, making it a dominant force in pop culture.

In Season 4 of Ghosts, Trevor recently discovered he has a daughter and is determined to be a good father. He offers to pay his daughter’s salary if Sam and Jay will hire her as a server. Abby is happy about the job opportunity but reluctant to strengthen her bond with Sam, who previously suggested Trevor was her biological father – a revelation that actually came from Lefkowitz. This storyline continues in Season 5, culminating in a surprising ending that opens up new possibilities for the show’s future.

Two free streaming services are currently offering both the original and the most recent Punisher films. While both movies feature the same character, they are very different in terms of how they look and feel. The late 1980s Punisher movie was made quickly, as Marvel needed to make money. Punisher: War Zone, however, was a passion project—a tribute to the character inspired by the darker Marvel Knights comics. Recently, the original Punisher film has gained renewed interest—Dolph Lundgren even revisited the role for a photoshoot in 2019. Unfortunately, War Zone hasn’t yet had its moment to shine.

Many actors appear in various TV shows, but few create truly unforgettable roles. However, some have successfully played multiple outstanding characters – often very different from one another – and they may continue to add to those impressive performances in the years to come.

Netflix releases a new original show almost every month, and with so many foreign-language series being added, it feels like the recommendations change constantly. While shows like Stranger Things and Wednesday become huge hits, many others quickly disappear and are forgotten.

I was so thrilled to hear Clara’s story! A staff member was about to throw it away, so she took it, hoping to find the owner. She had no idea it was Cynthia Erivo’s! Her friends later told her, and she’s been trying to return it ever since. She kept it safe for a whole year, just wanting to give it back to Cynthia personally, and finally got the chance through the concierge. It was amazing to see Cynthia give her tickets to the Wicked premiere as a thank you – what a wonderful outcome! I’m so glad everything worked out!

Paramount+ is now a leading streaming service, reaching 79.1 million subscribers by the end of September 2025 and experiencing rapid growth in recent years. According to CEO David Ellison, Paramount Skydance intends to invest more in creating new shows and movies while also increasing the price of its streaming subscription.

I suspect there’s a link between how many episodes a show has and its rating on Rotten Tomatoes, even though I don’t have any proof. It seems like shorter shows – those with fewer episodes – tend to get better scores. This makes sense because a common criticism of shows and movies is that they become too drawn out. With fewer episodes, there’s less chance of that happening.
