As a huge Stephen King fan, I wasn’t surprised to see his work popular around Halloween, but I was blown away to find that every movie and show in the new IT series was at the top of the charts on HBO Max! On October 31st, 2025, IT: Welcome to Derry, IT Chapter Two, and the first IT were all in the global top 10, and even more impressively, they were all in the top three within their categories. Season 4 of The Witcher has become a top 10 hit on Netflix in every country where the service is available, according to data from FlixPatrol. Currently, it’s the No. 3 show in the U.S., following Nobody Wants This and Selling Sunset. However, The Witcher reached No. 1 in countries like Ukraine, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Egypt. Despite lower ratings on Rotten Tomatoes for most seasons – only the first season has a positive score – the show continues to be very popular with audiences.
The most recent episode of Matlock was deeply moving, showing Matty remembering a happy time with her daughter before her struggles with addiction worsened and she tragically passed away. The episode featured a delightful performance by Kathy Bates singing Janis Joplin’s “Another Piece of My Heart” during two karaoke scenes, and some great reactions to Matty’s new look. However, the biggest surprise was the unexpected appearance of Melanie Lynskey, which was made even better by the fact that her cameo was kept secret. Despite the strong episode, there are a couple of things that left me feeling disappointed.

Cohen explained that they don’t want to simply stretch the movie’s plot into a longer format. Instead, they’re aiming for something completely new and different.
Do you remember when Stephen Colbert’s team suggested a segment about Gaza to Zohran Mamdani? To be fair, those pushing Mamdani on the issue weren’t acting in good faith, so responding in kind makes some sense. What really stood out to me during Mamdani’s conversation with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show was that he had enough time at the beginning to discuss important topics seriously, which allowed him to relax and do some lighter segments towards the end. That’s thanks to the length of the interview, but also to Stewart’s skill as an interviewer. He truly connects with his guests, understanding their perspective and asking questions that get to the heart of the matter. Like his recent talk with Bernie Sanders, it was a genuine exchange of ideas.
