Where ‘Predator: Badlands’ Fits in the ‘Alien’ & ‘Predator’ Timeline, Explained

As a big fan of both the Alien and Predator universes, I’ve been trying to figure out exactly where Predator: Badlands fits into everything. Seriously, when does it take place? Does it connect to the stories we’ve seen in Alien: Earth or the new Alien: Romulus? Or is it way further down the line? The movie doesn’t spell it out, but there are a ton of little hints about its place in the timeline. These clues also suggest how the events of previous Predator films quietly influence the story, and even give us a possible timeframe for a future Alien vs. Predator movie. It’s fun trying to piece it all together!

The Spectacle of Our Own Helplessness

The film, Put Your Soul on Your Hand (currently showing in New York and soon to be released in more cities), is made up of video calls with Hassona, a young woman who often smiles even when she’s scared or upset. While her lively and curious personality shines through, the calls are constantly disrupted. The connection is poor – the video and audio cut out and freeze frequently, making it hard to understand what she’s saying. These technical issues actually emphasize her fragility, making it feel like she’s reaching out from a faraway, dangerous place – a world of constant bombing and fighting. She speaks casually about terrible events, like finding her aunt’s body near their destroyed home.

The Highs, Lows, and Whoas of Wicked: One Wonderful Night

The opening credits of Wicked: One Wonderful Night immediately show it was filmed at the Dolby Theatre – the same venue as the Oscars! This is a striking choice, especially since the film is clearly aiming for awards this year. It almost creates the impression of a world where there’s an annual Oscars ceremony dedicated solely to Wicked. As a reminder, the first Wicked movie received ten Oscar nominations and won two awards last year. I see this as the beginning of a high-profile awards campaign to surpass that success this time around.

5 Great Spaghetti Westerns You Can Stream On Prime Video

The incredibly popular Dollars Trilogy, directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood, helped Italian Westerns become a hit with audiences around the world in the mid-1960s. Shifting Gears Season 2 Highlights Underserved Co-Stars

The second season of the show is getting better, especially with Allen’s character, Matt Parker, starting to win viewers over while still maintaining his relatable, down-to-earth personality. Although Allen is the main star, the entire cast of Shifting Gears is filled with talented comedic actors who haven’t fully had their moment to stand out – but that could change.

Marvel Reveals the Steve Rogers Movie You Will (Probably) Never Get to Watch

I just got a peek at a new clip from the upcoming Disney+ series Wonder Man, and it’s got me buzzing! We see Yaya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams strolling through a Hollywood studio, and the background reveals a poster for a revamped version of Rogers: The Musical. For those who remember, this play first appeared in Hawkeye, and it looks like it’s gotten a pretty significant update a few years later. It’s a fun little Easter egg that suggests a connected universe and a lot of in-world history!

There Are No Bad Predator Movies

That makes me think about why the Predator movies are so consistently good. It’s because the Predator – or a Yautja, as they’re called – is just a fascinating villain. They’re not just a monster, or a typical slasher, and they’re definitely not someone you could ever relate to as a human bad guy. Watching them hunt us is unsettling, but honestly, it’s also a little…recognisable. They’re basically doing what humans have been doing to animals for thousands of years – hunting for sport, without a second thought. And they seem to genuinely enjoy it, which is the really chilling part.
