Ever since the release of The Exorcist in 1973, movies about demonic possession have always walked a line between being shocking and entertaining. Some people even believe making these films can attract negative energy. Whether it’s simply superstition or connected to our beliefs, stories about exorcism and possession are uniquely frightening, setting them apart from other horror movies. This list features some of the best, but there are many more out there to scare you!

This week, we’re talking about Melissa Gorga, a Real Housewife who often sparks debate. I’m a big fan – those of us who are are sometimes called ‘Gordita Crunches’! While she’s not perfect (like when she seems to create drama for the show), and I definitely don’t like her sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice, I’ve always admired Melissa. I think she’s smart, a hard worker, and really down-to-earth, plus she’s beautiful – and yes, that matters, even if it’s superficial. What I’ve always found confusing is how she seemed to let her husband, Joe, dominate their relationship, with her primarily taking on the roles of cook, housekeeper, and mother, and seemingly catering to his needs constantly.

The biggest issue with “Tulsa Turnaround” isn’t any single flaw, but that it doesn’t quite fit within the established story. Characters act in ways that are confusing and their interactions feel unnatural. It feels like the episode was built around a specific ending, rather than flowing naturally from previous events. For example, would Francis, a smart teenager, really seek advice from Ray, her dad’s casual and often-drunk associate? And would Cyrus give a loaded gun to someone who just admitted to misplacing another one?

Watching everyone get assigned bedrooms on the boat was surprisingly smooth – Heather snagged the master, Meredith got her beloved bathtub, and everyone seemed happy, which is more than the original RHONY cast ever managed! But the peace didn’t last. When Britani learned she’d be sharing a room with Bronwyn, her face instantly showed pure horror – it was like her Botox couldn’t even hide how upset she was.

In contrast, Squid Game became a global phenomenon with its story of desperate Koreans competing in deadly games for a huge cash prize.

Season 7 of The Rookie started strong, even including a standout episode. Unfortunately, after the midseason finale, it fell into the same patterns as Season 6, repeatedly undermining its own progress. The villains weren’t very compelling, the storylines were easy to guess, and the characters didn’t grow much. Now, the show has an opportunity to improve, and a good first step would be to replace the character of Celina.

Chris Mundy, the creator and showrunner of Lanterns, is known for creating gripping stories and choosing fantastic actors. He’s previously worked on popular shows like Ozark, Bloodline, and True Detective. Keep an eye out for rising star Aaron Pierre (from Netflix’s Rebel Ridge), who will bring a fresh and surprising take to the role of John Stewart.

The Gina Picket storyline didn’t really justify the amount of attention it received. It was a tragic, but straightforward case of a serial killer’s victim, and ultimately felt unsatisfying. Thankfully, the larger story arc developing in Tracker season 3 is much more compelling and doesn’t feel as contrived.
