Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen announced for Switch and Switch 2

The Pokémon Company announced that the popular remakes originally made for Game Boy Advance will be available digitally this year during Pokémon Day. You’ll be able to download and play them on both the Switch and the new Switch 2 consoles right after the Pokémon Presents presentation.

Pokemon LeafGreen and FireRed listed for February 27 release on Nintendo Switch

Currently, these listings appear only on the console store. They are for different language versions of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, originally released on Game Boy Advance. The description highlights that these releases are part of the 30th anniversary celebration of Pokémon, and are coming to the Switch. The original game was only released in Japan, but this new version was released there in 2024 with plans to translate it into English.
